Learn how to naturally attract hummingbirds to your yard, no matter what climate you live in. Chris on the EG team profiles her favorite plants to bring in these gorgeous birds. Originalism: I find that in Florida Zone 9A, my local hummingbirds like basil flowers. I intermix some of my basil with other plants and let them flower. That way, I get seed for the next year, along with bees, hummingbirds, and other pollinators. The best part is basil flowers for a long time in my garden - often March through November. Easy and inexpensive.

Possibly off subject but I like the streptocarpas it's a beautiful African violet so pretty. Plants are so soothing actually I think it's a streptocarpella. Thanks for sharing the hummingbirds here seem to like my mandevilla that plant is magical no kidding you can put your hand next to it and it will feel your energy is so weird

I'm in south Texas. Hamelia patens, Odontonema cuspidatum and campsis radicans have been the most successful to get hummers into my yard. These are really great options for warm climates. If hummingbirds migrate through your area, try to find species native to your area. Native plants use less water!

I was really surprised that I didn't hear any mention of Phlox in the video. I remember hearing that it's actually one of the best flowers to attract hummingbirds, at least here on the East coast. There is a wide range of colors available to please any gardener out there.

Great video idea. remember if you use a feeder to change out the water regularly and/or use the copper additive that helps prevent mold growth. I also noticed a hummingbird interested in Douglas Aster the other day, which is native to PNW.

Grapefruit sage is my favorite new pollinator addition this year. It smells so good and those bright red flowers! I've got to look for the glory vine. I've been collecting Agastaches, what are your favorite seed vendors for them?

I live in the Chilean desert and we are getting them migrating through right now- there's tons! If you walk under a tree there's usually a few of them flying around eyeballing you, they're very curious!

Here on the CA central coast Cupheas are the number one hummingbird attracting plant. They bloom non-stop year round and hummingbirds are constantly at them and fighting over them.
