Join Jacques in the Garden and I for this relaxed fall garlic planting session, where we go over varieties, methods, to soak or not to soak, and much, much more. mimosveta: when I was repotting chives, they came out of the pot all roots and barely any soil. I smelled them and the roots smelled so wonderfully garlicky, and not at all like a soil, I almost wanted to eat them right there. it really shows how all these species that we eat today were selected for, and why
if I were a president of my country, I'd ban not only gmo, but also imports of any and all kinds of copyrighted plants.

Only harvested swiss chard seed once but it seems to have already adapted since I got the original from the same town, same with my peppers that I saved from seed in the town (stole from a community garden that has since been bulldozed by the hotel that owned the land. They survive frost and come back year after year in zone 10a. Maximizing the garden output!

They don't sell soft necked garlic here. When asked where to buy it from the guy at Peavey mart told me, I needed to move south! Lol
Yup. It's the same thing here. If plans to get garden work done are interrupted by rain, you just keep going. When you are done, change your clothes and have a hot tea!
You fellas don't rotate your plantings?

Love you guys. I was in San Diego just this week for business, the weather was so atypical with the rain, I wish I could have stopped by to say hey. My garlic from last year is coming up now, I m in 7b on the east coast. I will add, I plant it to keep animal pests away in addition to harvesting.

Lastly, I learned the hard way that using commercially grown garlic has NO medicinal qualities. But garlic grown in a Certified Organic way seems to be good, used as a medicinal use. So I would use diatomaceous earth to kill any bugs, not chemicals.

I was literally watching your videos today thinking about what to plant now here in Texas on my urban balcony garden, and was looking into garlic because I have never grown it before. Then you come out and drop this video a few hours later! It s fate!

I have rain envy! Believe it or not, I'm in Western Washington and we haven't had measurable rain in 4 months. There were just 2 days when it misted Just prepared my beds today and will plant my garlic once we get a real rain. Enjoy guys!

First attempt at growing garlic and I don t have a lot of space I went with a hard neck so I could get scapes, (zone 5b. So glad I chose Music after you mentioned it! Maybe you guys could have a tutorial on shallots next.

I m no garlic expert but in NE Oregon, zone 5ish-6ish, I plant only a couple inches deep. I would think, the lower the garlic is planted, the longer it would take for the cold to reach it appropriately during winter.

A rabbit and a bear are pooping in the woods. The bear asks the rabbit, do you have problems with poop sticking to your fur? and the rabbit says, no so the bear picks up the rabbit and wipes his ass with it.

You guys are awesome. Thank you so much. I just planted cloves from the store. The sprouted in the fridge and set them in my porch rail planter. They are growing along with my multi Herb Planter.

You guys are so dedicated. I run for cover usually during the rain but sometimes I love the summer rain when it s light and I remain. I m laughing too hard while the bags get so wet.

on freezing garlic, I'm sure vernalizing in the freezer is a no-go, but I plant my bulbs couple inches deep in Maine and they have to freeze solid over the winter, so it's confusing.
