No disrespect to your relationship if you're in one, but I could kiss you for making these videos! I'm a complete newbie, and I just got my first set of plants settled in at home. I was using books and information online, but hadn't been fortunate enough to find your videos. You lay it out so simply, and somehow it sinks in better for me when someone's talking me through and showing me things. Other videos lose me very quickly, not getting to the good stuff fast enough, but you kept my attention and told me what I need to know. I know now that I settled my snake plant into too large a pot, but have more confidence that I set the pots up right otherwise. Hopefully the sturdy little dude will handle the extra room if I just take care of him right in other ways. I don't want to shock him by repotting him again too quickly. Another of your videos also gave me the confidence to give my poor spider plant a haircut. My plants came mail order, and the spider plant got a little beat up on the way home. I think I'll do okay with them, now, adding these videos to my list of resources, and I feel like I know better what to watch for to catch problems. Keep the good info coming!

I would be careful about his recommendation not to repot a new plant right away. Many of the big box stores are selling plants that are already badly root bound. Now with the delay in trucking plants to stores the problems with buying plants in many stores has increased. Plants are arriving root bound and nearly dead. If you buy a plant that is not looking its best you might consider repotting within a short amount of time, a couple of days tops. Repot right away if the plant looks pretty bad. Emergency repot may be necessary. Root bound plants need to be up potted quickly since the water cannot sink in properly and soil is disappearing quickly leaving the plant unable to obtain proper nutrition.

I have a question that has bothered me since I started my plant collection. When watering my snake plant, I will have a long leaf along with its sister leaf. Not a pup mind you but just the second leaf that is growing as part of it. Where do I actually let the water pour? I know this seems simple but, The water wants to run along it and touch the plant and depending on the size of the sister leaf, the water will always run into the crown of the plant. I have tried watering clear around it but it makes the soil too wet for too long. Can you show me where you place the water?

I have 2 snake plants on the sides of my garage in planters in FULL SUN and I live in the South where it gets extremely humid and the average temp from July to October is 92 degrees. We also have severe thunderstorms where it floods and my sansaveria get extremely drenched and let me tell you, those suckas are full, more healthy than the ones in the house and have grown so tall in 3 mths that I cant believe that they are the same ones I planted 3 mths back. So they DO very well in full sun, heck they do better.

Thank you for these videos, very helpful. I have a couple of these plants and I may have moved them to a pot that is too large and the leaves over the year have developed a vein like look and feel and droop a bit. I know I have good drainage and I think I'm following the watering guideline with the finger measurement. Lighting is not direct but I do think what they are getting is adequate. Suggestions? Thanks!

You do know that this plant blooms with 5 to 12 stalks of white flowers that sweeten the surroundings with a wonderful aroma. This plant also loves direct early morning sun up to 1: 00 pm outside. I will never understand why people give out the wrong information on growing this plants, including nurseries. Want it to bloom, give it some sun.

Please make a video discussing how to grow, care for & harvest zucchini. I hear its one of the easiest things to grow & gives a high yield, unfortunately, Ive never had any luck with them. The one year I managed to get a few fruits, they were so delicious, that Ill never eat store bought again! Help! I love zucchini.

I love African violets but BOOHOO I ALWAYS manage to kill them. I live in the tropics and would love to see a helpful video on their care. I have tried them in different areas of the house - inside and outside. Every room is filled with light but for the life of me they refuse to survive. HELP

Is there a better type of water to water indoor succulents with? Ive been using my well water, which I can only assume has a lot of iron in it being that it turns my sink and shower orange. Ive heard distilled might be a better option but I just wonder if it actually matters?

Can you show how to take care of a majesty palm, please? I just brought one and he's my first houseplant and I'm so worried I'm going to kill it. It looks like it's ok but it looks a little washed out, some fronds feel brittle. But I do have two new palms coming up from soil.

Also, please consider making a video giving us the basics of companion planting. My green thumbed friend explained that its like doing the seating arrangement at a wedding for a very dysfunctional family; the key is knowing who likes each other and who doesnt get along.

Great video, thanks for the tips! Im stuck however because I was gifted a beautiful west elm planter with no drainage holes and I keep reading different things regarding it. In your opinion will my snake plant do just fine without drainage holes or is it essential?

The inside of my house is like a cave. There are large overhangs everywhere. Yes, it keeps my house cooler in the blistering heat of Sacramento, but I haven't found a houseplant that will grow here. Do you have hints for types that will grow in very dim light?

Have had at least 5 different variations and overloved them all. I even successfully cutting propagated one. But alas I killed each one. Now I have 3 cylinder shaped ones of 2 varieties and promise to neglect them a bit. Thanks in advance for your advice.
