So i've tried cloning basil in various ways, usually with success because basic just goes nuts. My problem is no matter what I do it always wants to bunch up those leaf nodes and try to go to flower. Is there a way to stop it?
My basil usually looks at about the same stages yours was in, so right before it starts developing flowers but after the nodes grow closer together. Am I taking the cuttings too late?

Hi Thank you for the peaceful video, I mean it. I felt happy to see hope and truth together. Anyway, question - being an ardent farmer's market loyalist and enthusiast, basil does seems seasonal. It made me wonder how one would resume when the season starts, if propagation was by stems and not seeds. Basil has seeds as well, so may be farmers at large do not know or practise this method to perennially grow them?

My store basil propogation is really just 1 stem and I just moved it into soil 3 days ago after almost 3 weeks in water but it looks like the growth has slowed. I only water it if the top soil has started to get dry. I just hope it continues to grow - if I'm doing anything wrong pls do let me know.

Not enough info. How long until it roots? Where are you leaving that box with the herb inside or out? What temperature should the environment be or what is ideal? Is the material your planting them in cost effective? As I've had high success with just water

I have one major complaint about your method. One should never put a cutting INTO your grow powder. You have contaminated the container with whatever disease the plant might have. Always put the powder that you will use into another container.

Tossing them in water is the easiest way, just change out the water every few days. Use non chlorinated water. Took mine about 8 days to start growing strong roots, didnt use any root starter.

I'm doing this and I have a consistent high failure rate. The roots rot or the leaves wilt. Maybe I'm using the wrong kind of basil, or it's too hot in my room (25C)

I just put the Basil clipping in a cup of water, and set it in the window. Within a few days, it has tens of roots coming out. Water is all you need.

One thing you can use besides a chemical rooting hormone, is a natural one! Cinnamon, aloe, willow are all good natural rooting hormone stuff you can use

Do you spray the cube with water every day while the basil is in the tray? Also, how long does it take for the basil to root? Thank you!
