What you did there giving the the plant a larger pot and adding to the existing volume of potting soil available to it's roots is called Potting On,
When you have a plant that has been in the same container for usually say a few years and perhaps the potting soil may have gone off or soured, perhaps compacted or it's harbouring pests then you remove the plant with rootball intact from it's container(right time of year, remove some of the old soil, or all of it (depending on circumstances and plant species) then put the plant back into the same or same size container or plant pot using new fresh potting soil for filling in and around the plant's roots: That's what is called Repotting
When you've a plant growing amongst others like say a few seedlings in a pot or seed tray and you'd prefer they were separated and each of them, or pairs of them, (small groups in some cases if appropriate) were given more space and separate growing containers or pots; or if you had a (usually) young plant growing in the open ground(if conditions judged okay) and you decided, for whatever reason you had, that you are going to dig out the plant from the ground, trim a few roots and remove a little or some ground soil, preferring to further it's cultivation in a container or plant pot, filling any spaces with potting soil after placing the plant's roots in the pot or container; then this practice is known as Potting Up.

Oooh [shakes head in disbelief] that was one nasty hatchet job on that lovey, happy contented plant (straight from the store by the looks of it. Little tip if you want a really big Scindapsus buy three nice full ones (many stems) and get yourself a nice wide pot and plant all three in it. Dont just pour potting soil over it like this either, you need to gently firm it down between or around the plant(s. Reason I say buy three is because it will always be uneven if you do it the way shown, one side much much shorter than the other as the cuttings will not catch up to the other side as it also grows of course. If you want to make a big pot with your existing dangler start again from scratch. Chop the entire thing up and plant a whole pot of just cuttings out of it, as big as you like. Most will strike if you keep it humid and warm under some sort of baggie. Not overly wet not dry, it should be fine without any more attention as the baggie keeps it just right mositure wise as none of it can escape the bag. You should also use your favorite fungicide one time, be that an organic one or chemical.

Hey Kevin. couple questions for you. Ill probably have a billion more in the coming weeks as this continued shutdown is evolving my passion for plants. Im up to almost 30 different house plants
within the last month. My first was a Sanseveria a year ago just as a gift to myself for moving in my new place. Now Im starving for room to have more bright indirect sunlight LOL As always thanks for your knowledge and tips!
1) Whats the major diffs if any between Extreme Gardening Mykos and Azos?
2) Are they both a type of fert. or just a fungi that help water to soil trans?
3) Not to be disrespectful to your sponsors of this vid, but are there more affordable soils youd recommend to beginners that arent experienced enough to go all out for the more costly options?
4) Any tips on growing thai basil from seed to harvest?
5) I searched and not sure if I missed it but do you have a vid on Elephant Ear plants and their care?
6) Best LED grow light you can recommend?

i have a beautiful devil's ivy pothos that i wanted to create more of to put around my house and was always so confused why i can get these huge beautiful roots in water but the cuttings always died within a week of planting. i also use cutting to make more of my purple heart plant and they take on so incredibly easy without any adjustments and normal watering, i've made so many of them over the years! so i expected it to be just as easy with the pothos but apparently it is more sensitive to watering, so thanks so much for the advice! i currently have 3 vases with long pothos vines that have been waiting to be planted as i was scared to do it again, hope it works this time to add one thing, i have a tendency to sometime overwater, how do i know when it's time to stop keeping it overly most and start watering normally?

My scindapsus pictus exotica doesn't grow at all! I bought a plant of 4 leaves. But there was absolutely no growth. After a month I checked the root system. It was good and roots were coming out from 3 nodes. So I divided the whole plant into two. Repotted in a smaller pot as the nursery pot was too big! But nothing is happening at all! Please someone help me.

I have a Scindapsus pictus like in the thumbnail. Some of the leaf tips are turning brown (tips are soft, not dry or brittle if that's relevant. I have it growing in an aluminium can so I'm not sure if this is the cause or if it's from too much direct light, lack of humidity or something else.

I have a number of pothos plants grown from cuttings, they started out really great. But now seem to be growing smaller leaves. They are all in a decent sized pot for the size. Any suggestions as to how I can encourage bigger leaf growth

This habit to call everything else but pothos a pothos makes it pretty complicated to search for info about pothos. The actual rare plant pothos: -D Its so easy. Scindapsus, epipremnum, pothos. They dont even look alike: -D

Hey guys, has anyone tried to propagate the cuttings directly on dirt? That's how I usually propagate my other pothos, but this plant is new for me.

Can you take a couple of the long hanging legs and gently fold them up placing ends into the soil and hope they take root to make it bushier?
