Anyone have a remedy for an aloe plant that is doing bad inside and outside as well. I think my mistake was letting it get sunburned when I first got it I thought it was tolerant of sun because it holds alot of moisture in it's leaves but I was wrong and the sun like scorched it and it has these weird sun scorched circular spots. So I put it inside but the way my windows are positioned my living room does not get enough light anywhere to have any plant inside unless it's right by the windows(which don't have a good spot to put a plant nearby anyway as my couches are under the windows. so now my aloe is an ugly pale ish green color and doesn't seem to be growing any bigger it just seems stuck in this miserable looking state. Also it seems so top heavy that the weight of it's leaves just make the leaves bend and break. help

11: 00 - the foil+stick mirror is employing the old hack called crippling the photosynthesis by canceling the transpiration on the bottom of the leaf.
When you have to slow the veg down because flower doesn't have room yet, light up the bottom of the plant to cut growth in half.
It's like pointing a hair dryer in a panting dog's mouth.
(Unless there isn't enough light to make any difference at all to anything)

If you're eventually killing the succulent, I think it's still a waste. I want to have live plants not something that's gonna eventually be some ice trays with a bunch of dead succulents and dirt falling all over the floor. I've even been finding things like this in local gardening shops. Everyone's selling miniature containers with a single hen or kokedamas that fall apart after the first watering.

Ironically some of the excessive water tips might actually help me. The area I live in is so arid that I have a lot of trouble just keeping my house plants watered enough, and really cannot have any drainage on them, not even the succulents, because even a little just absolutely rips the water out of the soil. Might try that sponge idea at the bottom, that could really help.

Funny how they used that green horn worm to promote hot pepper sprays when they eat hot peppers and anything in the night shade family. I lost Jalapenos to them. 1 can eat a large pepper plant overnight. They actually choose peppers over tomatoes or they did in my area. That hack would have attracted that hornworm to plants it normally would not have eaten lol.

The actual reason some people may plant things upside down like that is because plants absorb water through the root tips. Upside down, plants' roots are closer to the surface, so you wouldn't have to water as much to reach the root ends. The issue with this is you are more likely to over water or under water your plants. Just plant your plants properly.

I have a sterlite tub with the gasket on top that I grow terrarium plants in. They do really well in there. The trick is setting up a good false bottom. The secret though is springtails. They're tiny arthropods that eat mold. I've had my tub going over a year now and just added a few isopods too. We'll see if I can keep one for 30 lol

Clearly you, and Blossom, have never worn nylons. Those nylons will stretch immediately and the plant will once again be sitting on the bottom of the pot. Then it will get a run and will break, causing only a portion of the roots and dirt out of the pantyhose. You'll end up in a worse situation than before.

I'm a little confused about the tin foil. Obviously, that tiny scrap of tin foil in the video won't reflect much light back, but what about large sheets of tin foil that surround the plant and/or the growing setup (and, in the case of grow lights, contain the light source as well?

The tin foil works. They need more of it but if you think for a second it doesn't work than perhaps you're not as knowledgeable as you assume. Grow tents are built like that for that very reason. To bounce light and allow for a more even distribution of light.

The pill was likely aspirin unless I missed a detail. Acetylsalic acid has been reported to trigger a plants defenses/immune system. Supposedly helps the plants better defend against diseases. Dunno if it's true. read it on the internet.

A little late seeing this video. but that's actually a tobacco hornworm. That's what we have around our area mostly, though I've also seen tomato hornworms. The giveaway is the red 'stinger' and the black dots on top of the stripes
