looks like you have the same problem I did. I used pretty much that exact system and emmitter. I guess I put too many on the run and none really worked. They worked OK with just a few. at first. Then I had a problem with the well pump, and apparently draining the system to do what I had to do to fix it, made some dirty water come through for a while at first. I tried to release it with hose, and it cleared up pretty quick, but I guess enough grit made it through to further clog the emitters. Now I hand water anyway for this year. I guess I learned enough I will try to rebuild it next year with filters, and heavier 3/4 main feed.

You might have just got a rototiller and tilled it up anyway.
Try the 'kiddie pool' setup.
Drip irrigation wastes water due to too much evaporation. It also promotes weeds.
You could use a magnum size GLASS wine bottle, fill with water, invert and shove it into each grow bag (one per bag needed.
You can see when to refill the bottle, and watering is automatic.
Drilling a hole in the cap of the bottle can regulate the watering.
I don't use a cap as it keeps my soil dang near exactly right.

I used grow bags this past summer to grow all sorts of veggies but everything did so poorly. I noticed that my bags look like they have green mold all over them and so it seems (in my far from expert opinion) that they are keeping way too much water. Is there a way to mitigate this next year? I have them sitting in the yard, should they be elevated in some way off of the ground so they drain better?
Side note: Super stoked about your book! Can't wait to read it.

Advantages of grow bags:
1) Made of environment friendly non woven fabric, allow roots breathable and healthier.
2) Booster better roots aeration and access to oxygen, resulting in a vigorous plant with more flowers and fruits.
3) No-strap water design prevent over watering of plants.
4) Keep roots warmer in winter and cooler in the summer
5) Sturdy handle straps easier transportation.
6) Decrease risk of transplant shock.

Hi Kevin! What do you recommend for putting under your grow bags, if you only have 1 or 2 small ones? I don't have a large set up and want to try using a few grow bags, but don't want them to cause any damage on my deck. Wasn't sure if a saucer or plastic dish would work better. Any guidance would be helpful on my gardening journey! Thank you!

Are you happy with these grow bags? I've been shopping, and I have a SmartPot from CaliKim, and that one is great. Looking on amazon, there are a lot of not-so-good reviews. I'm curious where these are made, and if you're happy with them. I'm considering ordering some. They look good enough, but it's hard to shop sight-unseen. Thank you

I noticed in the video that you used a bagged potting mix to fill your bags. Was this just out of convenience or is that typically how you fill your grow bags? I just purchased some bags that I will be adding to my garden next week but up until now, I have only done square foot gardening using the Mel's Mix formula that I make myself.

I'm surprised the drip irrigation isn't setup underneath the bags. you know like with a little pizza box plastic deali protecting the spigot from getting squished so the tomatoes could be watered from underneath. I am green as a gourd so please forgive me if this is a really dumb question. :)

Terrible overindulgent use of plastic everywhere. This is tokenism. You could have used cardboard as weed membrane. reclaimed tubs or clay pots and PEAT FREE GROWBAGS! You're utterly destroying PEAT flats and encouraging MORE PLASTIC! No wonder the planet is gonna fail us

Have you done a video on grow bags with other ideas for irrigation for those of us who can't do the regular type of irrigation? I can't run water outside in the trailer park where I live, and I need other ideas for irrigating my grow bags without a hose.

buying all this crap = more expensive than just going to the grocery store and buying the finished product. but have fun if you want to follow this crap advice and purchase from the sponsors advertising. absolute garbage advice.

Honestly not a big fan of plastic fabric, but if it's what you've got, it's better than nothing. The microplastics concern me and I try to have plastic-free soil/growing media in my yard as much as possible.

Hi, may i know what should be the ideal place to have drain holes in grow bags? I mean should the drain holes be placed in the bottom like how it is done in plastic pots or in the bottom sides? Thanks

I have 2 grow bags in the garden, and Ive noticed the outside of them is turning green. (Black bags) looks like what Im assuming is mildew. Have you ever had that happen? Am I giving too much water?

I haven't found a video or info about if landscape fabric or fabric growing bags are safe. Kind of defeats the purpose of organic food if you are eating flame retardents, microplastocs, etc. Thoughts?
