I grow them here in the uk and they do well in all soil but they do like some horse manure I find they do well with a feed of this. I store mine in cat litter in the greenhouse. I dont look at them from late October till March and then I plant them out and bring any new ones on in the greenhouse early so I can take cuttings. sadly we are to far north to leave tubers in the ground over winter. Newcastle upon Tyne uk

Hi Laura! Beginner gardener here, thanks to you of course! I have a question about fertilizing dahlias, specifically when (after planting tubers, how often and what kind? And the other question is about drip tubing. Is it better to run tubing down a hill or up it? Even if this doesn't get into your recap video, maybe your amazing community could help me out? Happy Gardening!

Thank you for the beautiful slide show. :)
Quick question. I planted dinner plate dahlias in 2 separate containers this year and they were doing great until spider mites attacked them: ( Any recommendations on how to prevent them. I planted 2 more varieties and they are just now showing leaves above the soil. Have a beautiful day!

Shame Eden Brothers are still using what looks like conventional plastic to package their tubers, hope some US suppliers are exploring more sustainable options, over here Peter Nyssen package all their bulbs and tubers in bio ethylene which saves tonnes of single use plastic from going to landfill.

Okay just a thought, maybe if you just pulled up one of each variety at the end of the season and store. Then mulch the rest in place. If any dont make it through the winter, you have the stored ones as backup. It would cut back on the harvest and planting workload.

I think the picture of Anemone Mix is actually a picture of anemones, the ones you have in your garden now. I think most anemone dahlias kind of look like a bright cross between a daisy and a scabiosa. They are pretty, just didnt want you to be disappointed later.
