You have inspired me to try lilies this year and my order arrived yesterday from Longfield Gardens. I live in Zone 4B in the Colorado Mountains. Two nights ago we got 7 inches of snow and it melted the next day. Our temperatures are in the mid-30-s for the next week and our last frost can be as late as the first week in June. The soil is warming up - especially in those areas with full sun all day (and we get lots of sun. So, since I-m such a rookie growing lilies - is it okay to put them in the ground now? The ground isn-t frozen but sometimes the nigh temperatures are still dipping below freezing.

Such a great video, Danielle--info, visuals, timely topic, pacing, setting. I have adopted your gardening approach in so many ways. Though it has generated numerous questions, thank you for risking this impromptu creation. It simply goes to show more of your gifts and skill and how how much preparation goes into posting each of your videos.
? I wonder if and how you deal with moles, gophers, etc? Nothing will dishearten me more quickly! :( Dogs help (trenchers. May have to return to mesh. but everywhere! Perhaps I'll just become a daffodil Farm. - Peace.

Your garden already looks so lovely. I planted some types of lilies last fall and some daffodils. the daffs are up and starting to bud, but they are flopping over really hard. Any suggestion as to why? I know when they first same up we had a hard hit with cold (down to 9 degrees, but it has been warmer since then. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Really loving your videos - thank you from 6B across the Delaware river! I learn so much in your videos (e. g, the lily -cover-) One thing I missed in this video was a close up of the bulb, where you talk about which side is up or down, and how deep to plant (which you did in the gladiola video recently - super helpful. Thanks again!

I love how you format your videos. Planting lilies in drifts and scattered, meanwhile giving us glimpses of everything else growing in your garden and Grace! These short -tutorials- and -mini- garden tours are perfect this time of year when we are all so busy in our own gardens. PS: And I hope you are having a wonderful day too!

great video as always. totally unrelated but can I send you a picture for some help? I have a limelight hydrangea breaking dormancy and it is like gooey sap coming out of the ends and white like flakes on the leaves and tips. I can only find info online on the leave diseases not on branches. please let me know. thanks

I have learned a lot from your videos. It's fun to watch them
Love your Mother's piano playing. Deer love my dayliles so they have to be in a fenced area. I have Casa Blanca, Stargazer, Expression and Muscadet to plant and not much room in fenced area. I don't know if these lillies are in same tasty family (to deer.

Greetings from the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state! I'm a gardener and I enjoy your content. But I'll be honest, I don't think that I can bear being called a guy one more time. Bright Gardening Blessings! ---

That arrangement is so gorgeous. Your videos and gardens are always a treat. Do you do anything to protect lily bulbs from being eaten by voles or mice etc? I had100 + bulbs completely gone in 3 years!

Your lilies sound lovely! I love having perennials I can count on to come up every year like that. My son and I want to expand our varieties of lilies for the future (we only have 3 varieties right now.

Everything is looking so fresh and pretty Danielle! -How do you keep squirrels from digging up the lily bulbs and rabbits from eating their heads when they start peaking out of the ground? ---

That-s a great tip about having your supplier hold the lilies at the correct temperature and mailing them out in different batches, so that you can succession plant, thank you!

Hi! Can anyone tell me the variety of the double yellow daffodil at 6: 55? One of these popped up with my Mount Hood Daffs and it is so beautiful but I don't know what it is!

Danielle, with the different lily heights available, how do you determine where in the border to plant them and do you keep varieties together in a drift or mix them?
