Today I'm planting brodiaea queen fabiola corms in a container and the driveway garden. I'm also potting up dahlias I grew from seed and Mahogany Splendor Hibiscus. We'll end our day with more gladiolus planting!

Hi - I know this is off topic but I started Snap Dragon dollar store seeds in my window sill and I just now planted the seedlings out into a pot in a sunny place on my covered porch.
I did plant a few outside in the sunny garden as well. I am clueless about these plants - if they are cool weather plants, then won't they not grow since we're getting warm by the day (I'm in 7b in Baltimore. They are annual, correct? Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Danielle, you and Jim Putnam are my favorite gardeners that double as a great resource. Your content is always inspiring and educational. The content you share is relevant, and you stick to the topic - videos are just the right amount of time and full of information. ps. i'm growing dahlias for the first time this year (7bNC) - some from seed, and a couple from tubers - this is gonna be a fun gardening season!

Hi, I'm in the UK a zone 9b and I have grown brodiaea, they are nice flowers but they are a garden blue so purple lol. I have heavy clay soil and I'll have to see if they have survived the winter. The ones I grew in a pot definitely survived as they were more protected from winter wet and cold. It'll be interesting to see how they grow for you. Have a great day!

I think it's crazy you talk about being such a wet climate and I'm not to far from you and it's not very wet in the summer here in Franklin county PA. My mom grew up in Lancaster and when she got married and moved to Franklin county she said she didn't know what to do. In Lancaster she never watered her garden and here she had to 1 or 2 times a week

Oh wow! okay sooo I grew that exact color brodiaea for the first time last year. They made a FANTASTIC cut! Long vase life. I have a lot of these in the ground and no problem with them coming back this year. Last year we also had a lot of rain, it was ridiculous lol. After arranging with them I decided to get the white variety.

I would always love to join you! Dahlia by seed wow I'm impressed! - We don't have cold weather all the way to the 13th! But it's a Lil chilly at nite so I think I'm gonna hold off on my warm veggies. My rannuculis are still down stairs and there rooting like crazy but they like cool weather so I'm gonna put them out!

Hi Danielle, just a question about dahlias.
Do dahlias from seed, produce bulbs after the first growing season or will they always just grow from seeds?
Love that tutu pink gladioli. and wish I could get that bush hibiscus here in New Zealand.
Happy spring for you. its fall over here.
Thanks, Jo.

I love watching Dave Gillam's videos about dahlias. He's a show grower in the UK and his videos are really interesting and show a whole nother world of flower growing. He has a great back catalogue - highly recommended! You guys up in the northern hemisphere really keep us going down here in the south!

Do YOU have any plans to write a book? You really should. Love your videos and you are my -go to- girl when I need to know how to do something in the garden. BTW, will have to get the Katherine glad. This is my first year growing them. will have to fight off the geese, deer, voles, etc.

Your Dahlias look so much better than mine! I can't grow inside because of cats and space but they are growing but slowly?
Is it the heat, I fertilize Fridays.
I didn't start them until end of February, second succession planting is good?

Do you have a recommendation for a perennial flowering vine for zone 6 other than a clematis or a climbing rose? I already have clematis and love morning glories, but would like to come up with another climbing vine that isn't an annual.

Danielle, 1st year grower here. Referring to what you said about Dahlias from seed, not being good for cut flowers because of pollin. If you save the tubers after that first year, will they then have less pollin thereafter?

In southern Wisconsin, zone 5a, my Brodiaea comes back every spring. It is on a southern slope and is already up. My first daffodil just bloomed on April 20 so this is a very cold spring for us. Love your videos so much!

I miss spring back east! In Denver our trees are just starting to flower. Anyways, looks like the apple tree has a bunch of suckers- I bet it would feel good to prune them out!

Could someone please tell me the name of the watering can she is using. I tried to listen to her a couple times but I just can't pick what she is saying. thanks so much.

Hi Danielle, great video. I was wondering if you have ever grown Snow -In- Summer? I have some seeds, just wondered if you have any experience with it. Thanks!

I planted a wild flower mix this spring, that is supposed to have Yarrow in it I really hope the Yarrow grows! Each plant in my area is quite expensive
