Learn how to divide dahlia tubers with Danielle from Northlawn Flower Farm Laurie: You've convinced me to start growing dahlias - that, and reports from some that they may be hardy in my zone 7a in Virginia. I'd like to be able to divide tubers and replant in the fall instead of digging and storing (no garage or basement. I just ordered dahlia seeds yesterday. What did you mean when you said for safety? Was it because the eyes were hard to see. or maybe too close to one another to cut the two apart? Thanks, Danielle!

Thanks for that lesson on dividing dahlias, it was so clear and informative so next year I will know what to do. I bought some tubers this year and have set them to sprout. Four have some nice growth, one is about to burst into life but so far the remaining three are not showing any interest in life. I love your your videos and thank you for all the great advice you do generously pass on, it's much appreciated.

After a few years of sporadic dahlia success I-m not planting them this year (zone 5 northern Michigan. However, great video for those who enjoy the dahlias. But, I-m so impressed with your fritillaria! I have about 10 bordering my house, but the same two or three flower each year, even though I-ve divided, fertilized, etc-
I think it-s time to try them in a new location!

Dividing is so intimidating at first for me, good thing I grew them from seeds last year and stored them and those tubers I used them to practice and when the time my dahlia order arrived dividing them is a little bit easier for me. -
Love your camera by the way it-s so clear and nice, Would you mind sharing what it is? I-m in a hunt for one. Thanks

Truly helpful video on dividing dahlias. Do you divide dahlias you've ordered online? Breck's sends out hugh clumps. Do I divide the clumps i receive or plant the whole clump and divide next year? This is my first year for dahlias so I have novice anxiety.

Danielle, add, -time lapse- or
-Tuber to sprout time lapse-
This video is EXTREMELY helpful to see the actual results and this is the kind of teaching that everyone is looking for. Good job!

Thank you! I thought you said you would take cuttings from these. I don-t understand that. Couldn-t you just plant out each of those sprouted tuners into the ground now? Did I mishear you?

Hello. Great info! Will you be up potting them individually or just planting straight in the garden after last frost? I have mine this way and wondering if I should separate them soon.

Can you store tubers for longer than one season? Maybe you ordered too many and don't have the space to plant them? How would you store them?

The BEST video I-ve seen on dahlia division and sprouting. If you don-t have grow lights, what are other options? 7bNC. Thanks!
