Im in the new 6a zone I thought my gardens were early but they are a month behind yours. My daffodils are a week into blooming. Hellebores are looking great. My temperatures here are 30’s & 40s. Because of strong winds I haven’t done any clean up. Now looking at yours I see I really have to get moving. Please never apologize for anything you have not yet accomplished in your gardens! The only judge you have concerning that is you, as it should be. They are gorgeous always! That you have already mulched anything is testament to your energy and devotion. I chose as I began my gardens here to only plant white daffodils and I love it. Each year adding more. I plant them to protect tulips and everything coming up. The bunnies start early here and chewed down everything except daffodils. I love where you moved the library. Inside is looking cosy and beautiful. Mirrors on every wall will light up your space with sunshine which is a great mood lifter. I would need that desperately in MA. Thank you so very very much for this beautiful gift of spring in your garden. I share with your philosophy of less and more. I will be putting in lots more catnip.

Weeds! Let me tell you about weeds. I made the mistake of digging up 2 small clumps of Bidens Beggertick and planted them in my new cottage garden. Not entirely familiar with them as we lived on this property less than 1 year when I was planting my garden. I read that they can spread. I thought thats ok, I’ll just stay on top of any new ones that come up and I’ll manage the 2 plants. Terrible mistake and I had way too much faith in myself. This WEED is popping up everywhere and grows so fast! Now I’ll be spending my Saturday pulling this nasty thing out of my garden. I’ll trade my weeds for yours.

I'm enjoying this informal approach. One thing that makes gardening so fascinating and rewarding is the process of editing, experimenting and improving. No season is ever the same! It's only been this year that I have realized that daffs and hellebores make a great combination. I saw some nice ones in my local nursery but was trying to resist the urge to buy more plants than I have the capacity to plant. My new enthusiasm is Molly's White. We had rain and strong winds in the Hudson Valley last week and then, of course, an earthquake!

Hi Danielle, you have done an amazing job in your garden, it looks beautiful in every season, I loved seeing this video and how incredibly sweet of you to keep your grandmothers memory alive by keeping her treasures out for you to cherish and share her history and same passion for gardening. Your garden library is such a special, tranquil place, I'm happy you can enjoy it, with Grace of course. Thanks for the garden tour, it's much appreciated, weeds and all lol. Wishing you a happy spring

How thrilled I was to see a new video from you in my feed this morning. I have missed you! Your garden is simply lovely, delightful, gorgeous, beautiful, amazing; all the adjectives. I love how fearless you are to make changes in your garden; I am the exact opposite, but you inspire me to take baby steps. I can’t wait to see how your garden evolves in the coming weeks and months as you share these informal videos.

I have missed you! Your camera work is just the best! I get vertigo watching some of the other garden vlogs. Also, thanks for posting on Saturdays. Not many vloggers post on Saturdays. Your garden is looking beautiful. I'm interested in different ways to disguise daffodil foliage so I'll be interested to see how the larkspur and feverfew work. I have both as seedlings right now. Thanks.

I’m taking a master garden class and we did weeds last week
And they asked a definition of a weed and someone said it’s a plant in a unwanted place
I never thought a weed as a plant but now I have a different prospective on weeds
Don’t worry you’ll get to it as you can
Mine is gonna have to wait on me since I just had foot surgery yesterday

I have missed you. love all the improvements to the garden. makes it much more open. I either missed it or you didn't say why you moved the shed. it looks real nice where it is. much cleaner out there. You are so much more ahead of us here in Maine. lots of snow and ice in the last 2 weeks so its nice to see everything green and blooming.

Thank you for the tour. It already looks beautiful and it’s only early spring. You have such a great talent for garden design. Sometimes I get overwhelmed by all the plant choices but I really like you leaning towards a more simple pallet of repeating the same flowers. As always your garden beds are stunning!

LOVING your garden transformation! Missed you bunches! Have you considered Black Scallop Ajuga as a groundcover in your sunny areas, and Black Mondo Grass in the shady areas More groundcover = less mulch = less weeds. (I prefer the blacks = resembles mulch better and makes the greenery around it pop.

Your garden is beautiful and inspirational. Weather wise you’re ahead of my location by 3 weeks. I’m itching to get gardening and will use some of your ideas in my garden My lasagna container (thanks for sharing this idea) is just starting to come the surface.

You’re gonna love all those hellebores! It’s a beautiful display to put a variety of blooms in a display bowl of water.
Have you decided to pair down your cut flowers Or will you have the raised beds in a different place

I think you’re more upset by the weeds than we are Honestly it all looks so beautiful. Love the black accents in hardscape. The garage wall just blends away, too. And garden library looks like it’s always been there
