It gets warm in the cabin from my first 24+ hour fire in the woodstove while I chink the walls of the log cabin, cook a few meals, sharpen my knife by the fire, track animals through the forest and practice my archery skills on a target behind the cabin. I flush ruffed grouse while walking through the forest in the snow. Drone footage of the cabin in the snow adds perspective and shows the remoteness of the cabin and how vast the Canadian wilderness beyond the cabin is, especially since the forest and the ground is more visible with no leaves on the trees and a fresh dusting of snow. I finish the stone floor at the entranceway and under the fireplace as well and I need the long burning fire to keep it from freezing while it cures. Neal: I admire Lilly and other women, who go out show others how to survive and sustain in the wild without Burger King! :) Great Women are desired by Strong men! Thanks Shawn for the lesson to weak men!

I so appreciate your comments about strong women. I grew up helping my Grandad farm, driving the great big tractors (helping plant, harvest, plowing, pulling the grain trailers to the elevator. Little bitty 100 lbs me, tiny woman, learned to do all this by learning to let the machinery work as it was meant to work. I met my husband, a long distance truck driver, and he was amazed that little bitty me knew how, and could actually drive, big machinery. We drove 2 semi(s) for the same company, him in one, me in the other, 48 states and Canada. Every 8 weeks we would shut down, go home to the UP of MI for 3 weeks and build on our homeplace on 20 acres that we were renovating from the 100 year old homestead. While we were home, my husband would help cook, clean, wash dishes etc and I would help build. He always said that if little bitty me could help him and work like a man doing it, he wasn't too proud to help by washing a dish, cooking or whatever else it took, that was commonly known as women's work, while we were home. Love of my life. Sadly he died, at 42 years old, from Viet Nam war, Agent Orange, inflicted injuries. We never got to finish our home place because after he died I sold and moved close to my family. At any rate, the jest of this is this tough Marine Viet Nam war vet had all the respect in the world for a woman and what a woman could do.

Guess who everyone not prepared will want to be the leader in a SHTF situation I often am amazed by how God always seems to have everything working towards a solution long ahead of the need Y'all are the leaders of the future Without you there might be NO survivors. Now I can't do the job as pretty as yours but I can make a safe and sturdy shelter At 72 I am not going to be lifting logs lol besides I live in the high desert; not many trees around. However, I am still grateful for the life skills I am learning from you Thanks to the USArmy I can shoot well and if that is what it takes for survival Bambi is a goner. TY for all the videos I have learned many simple techniques to make my shelter more comfy The actual shell will be delivered next month and I have the winter to do the insulation and inside walls. . Thank God for Old Hickory sheds I bought a small one four years ago and unlike the crappy ones sold at Lowes and Home Depot this one is still solid as a rock. Made of cedar with cedar siding it certainly will outlast me lol Lilly pay no mind to those guys Their type generally feels threatened that a woman could possibly be better at skills than they are and their own inadequacies drift through as anger. Not worth losing any sleep over. Keeping you both in my prayers.

I know this is a video from way back but I am a new viewer and I was deeply touched by your rant about men respecting women and how sad it is that they still can't do that. I appreciate that time you took to speak out about this topic in support of a fellow pier. I find myself to apparently be a life time single person because I always sense that quality in the fellas that are out there and available that I encounter for the very reason you spoke about. I hope that many many men get to hear this self proclaimed rant on this video and contemplate their actions and are inspired to change.
Besides this comment, I just want to tell you I really love the content of your videos and I am learning a lot of details of how you accomplish your tasks. You keep my imagination and dreams processing in my head towards possibly taking on some of your ideas one day! Thank you!

Thank you for your videos and comments. You have class and style and a genuineness that I like, and I think most sane people like. As far as SurvivalLilly goes, those threats, those despicable comments are illegal. YouTube is partially responsible. What to do about it is another matter. I'm glad SL takes precautions like never revealing her real name, or where she lives, that she has a spouse, that many people like her, that she has weapons, that many many people will come to her rescue. and so much more. These add to safety measures eliminating many crazies. Just live your lives and do what you like. I like that you share, that she shares. Personally, I have learned a LOT from both of you. Wishing you the best.

It's bad comments like that why I was so hesitant to start recording in the first place. Back at the start of youtube's gaming trend, it was really rare to see women making gaming videos. I wish I had just gotten over the fear and just did it while my computer had been capable. Now that I CAN to do what I wanted to do, it's old hat, no one cares, no one watches, etc. Oh well.

When Shawn says his financial troubles began with the contract payments slowing down or stopped from coming in. So I am not sure how an advice dispensed by Trump in Art of the Deal apllies with ALL contracts being equal in value despite value. Trump is notoriously stingy about not paying contractors or stiffing them entirely.

Another thing about living in the forest is that it is beautiful all year--in spring with the new leaves and flowers, in summer when everything is a beautiful green, in the fall when the colors are so spectacular, and in the winter with snow covering everything! You are so blessed!

I know its not your style usually but i think the only thing that could make your show better would be more some catch and cook episodes, youve done some fishing but Id love to see some more moose or deer hunts that you bring back to the cabin if thats something youd be into!

I tell you what, when my wife is busy doing something I go fix her a sandwich. And in turn she does the same for me. It's not 50/50. Its 100/100. You are absolutely right. Thanks for putting this out there
