Also, for all that snow on the roof, Tack down cable, strong wire, or small chain. When it loads up like that, take the end and pull it under the snow and it should loosen it so it all drops down at once. Obviously, dont stand under when you do it. A snow-ho is a great tool for moving the snow around too - far better than shovel or sled for that kind of pushing. You can make one w your skill.

No need to apologize for anything Shawn! Your video's take a lot of us old people to places we wish we could go. I'm in end stage COPD and also have Congestive Heart Failure. You're doing what we wish we could do and you're giving us the opportunity to live vicariously through you. Thank you Sir!

Ive been watching a lot these videos, yes he is good at what he does but to be honest being a showoff a little arent we. Simple living to the extreme would be more like it. From a fellow Canadian that has a log Cabin you build to enjoy it not keep adding useless stuff you dont need.

Man you are a serious cook! Most I make is oatmeal. Haha.
Tip on your French press: let it sit about 6-8 min before you press it, and then when you press it, go as slow down as you can tolerate. I used to work in a coffee shop. It makes a difference; )

Shawn, you are quite the cook. The meals you eat are huge. I am certain you burn a few thousand calories or more per day in addition to what your body would normally burn sitting around. I am curious, have you ever counted you daily caloric intake?

Shawn, was that a plate of food for you, and one for Kally? I hope that bone you gave her was not dinner, but a treat. Doesn't it take more than a few minutes to eat a bone, like maybe days? What kind of meat was that? Was that bear meat?

Really a beautiful homestead, you have done your homework and are building the ultimate dream. Wish I had the money to do the same, so I will just live my fantasy through your hard work.
Great stuff, thx.

I see you are fit and strong now, but how are you going to scrape snow off your roof when you are old and ailing? Have you given this some thought at all?
