I used to sell these and always preferred Jotul to Vermont Castings. I really wish HearthStone would have made a model with a top made of steel/cast iron and sides of soap stone. That soap stone really does radiate the heat for a long time. It would heat the shop long past the fuel burning out. But, they always added the soap stone to the top which made it less efficient for cooking, but great for heating a space for a long period of time. Made for a purpose I suppose.

Its amazing that after hundreds of years of woodstove technology, mankind can improve on a device such as a stove, that has no electronics and no moving parts.
