oh my. now I know what killed my beautiful Green Ash tree. I had no idea I even had a problem until it was too late. When I peeled back some of the bark there were squiggly looking lines all over it. I love nature and I love trees and wood. Lol, I even wanted to take woodworking in school, but they would not let girls take it way back then. I don't often comment but enjoy your video's. I would only be repeating what everyone else has said. But I had to comment on the ugly borer who is killing the glorious Ash tree. So sad. I wish I could have saved it, oh well. Thanks for letting me know what it was the got it.

yeah I know I'm 2 months too late with my comment > back in the ancient days. they kept the bark wet. They soaked it probably using a mineral or two. to make it even more flexible. i. e. Loggers dumped mercury in the pond where they soaked the logs to make them swell before shearing for ply-sheeting. . this ain't rocket science and I don't recommend poising the environment like the corporate assholes have done > but I do recommend speaking with some indigenous peoples. I'm sure they would be more than happy to tell you how to get it done. naturally.

I am undecided on Linker, he seems like a whiner to me. does he only know how to carve one thing? I like Robinet a whole bunch more! I watched the video of you guys working on the long house and it really seemed to me that Jim Baird was really irritated with him! I think I will not be following Linker anymore and I will stick to You, Shawn, Robinet, and the awesome Baird Brothers!

Will the bark come off aspens like that? And would you use aspens to build a log cabin. Probably dumb questions, but. Please advise. Thanks, bk
PS: For some reason I am not getting notifications if you are responding to my posts, but I specially marked this post to make sure and check your response later. :)

I like the pans youve got but if you can find some old ones with wooden handles then you dont have to wear gloves. Up to you- I dont cook over fire though. The enamelled cast iron is great too if you can find it. Thanks for video. You are an inspiration to many!

I was in Canada in 1984. Long ago. Water was dead from acid. It broke my heart. We went up to Wickwimacong. water dead there too. I hope your lake is not dead. Trees were dying from acid as well.

That forest opening may introduce disease and full forest demise. Especially if a new tree like Maple takes over. Maple always takeover but don't space out properly, just grow very fast when can.

Great video! While Im not at all a fan of treble hooks, at least mash down the barbs so not to damage the throwbacks. Barbs are barbaric and needless if constant tension is kept on the fish.

Sorry I haven't been watching your videos for a while but I've been saving them to my watch later. I do have a question Shawn, Could you use some of that Ash as boards for building things?
