It's taken me three weeks to clear a section of the forest to build permaculture vegetable beds and a foundation for a chicken coop. Denise: As I was watching you planting and making your garden beds there is one good way to keep mother nature animals out of your beautiful garden. I would quite a ways out plant things that deer, moose, elk and any other little predators by doing so it would keep them out I'm going into your garden because they will look for the food elsewhere and not in your planted hard work Gardens it's a thought so there are several things you can plant we will wait by the stream or ever that the other animals can eat and they won't touch your crops don't leave him alone because they'll get full eating foods that you planted out away from your garden think about it see if it can be a plan it's called diversion you direct them somewhere else away from your Gardens

Just found you two days ago, watched everything at least once and I'm now looking forward to your next installment, Shawn. I have a lot of questions, but the one I think of most is how is the ant population up there? I see you picking up a lot of debris and holding it to your chest to carry it a ways and I can't help but be afraid for you. :D I'd be interested in learning about how you deal with the bug/nasty bug population in your area, or point me to the video I missed on that. Thank you for your wonderful work and for letting us in!

Loving your videos. I wonder why some of us are more resilient than others. I see you work sun up till sundown and your stamina and resilience never alters. Our children of today can certainly use a little of whatever it is that gets you through. Admiration plus!

Miss your cooking, Shawn. It always looks so delicious and you manage to fit it in and film it, as well as work!
Why doesnt your wife help you outside?
Couldnt just let you do all this work outside, without helping!

Hey Shawn,
Would it not be easier and faster if you had brought a tiller and get the. 33acre all done at once?
Besides, have you ever you thought about building a green house for year round veg source?

De-barking a tree is much easier in the spring/summer when the bark isn't so tight due to the cold. Do you compost your egg shells & coffee grounds as well? Kudos for all the hard work done!

Another great video by Shawn James. This is my second time watching this video. It's raining in northwest Georgia and this is a good way to pass the time away.

Looks like I'd missed this one! Umm. You need help lifting all those heavy logs, Shawn. Not a good idea to lift such weights on your own!
