Boy you dont see those old wood drilling presses anymore in someones garage. Like you did when I was a boy. Back then many a baby boomer that is 55 or 60 years of age and older might remember seeing one and his grandfathers garage or barn. Since youve got all the Time in the world drilling the holes the way you are, not a bad way to go. Slow and steady. I had one that belonged to my daddy and he got it from his daddy.
In fact, with my daddy died me and my brothers split everything up that was in his oversize garage and in 2 Barnes. Talk about a mother load of old fashion tools. And all still in very very good shape. I love the set of small to large drawing knives I got. Just for starters. Soooooooo sharp they are.

Throws dog toy at 2: 14, at 8: 09 dog is still looking for it. Gives up at 16: 16 and brings a ball to throw. Ball is never seen again and dog gives up and grabs a stick at 19: 55. What are you? The 6 Million Dollar Man?

Shawn, I had an idea for a root cellar then I saw you building it. I'm starting on it this summer, please tell me, does it work well? I'm 80 miles from the nearest road, a larger root cellar is required, and concrete isn't in the equation. Thanks

Hey! Question to someone who knows:
Don't you think that this is kind of an overkill with the framework?
Is there a reason to use so much wood and of such thickness?

Everything in these videos is just AMAZING. The earth, the landscape, the human connection, the simplicity. And of course, MAN'S BEST FRIEND.

I like this no talk format. While your ideas and philosophies might not be shared by me and others, we all share the love of the work.
