if it aint the show, give ME a sound suppressed M4, with luminous sights, 2x7 Leupold, see thru mount and Ciener. 22lr conversion unit. Beats a bow all to hell! :-) A 20 rd mag of Nosler Partition 60 gr sp's is 2/3rds lb. 100 rds of 60 gr Aquila subsonic. 22's are just 1 lb. the rifle can be just 4 lbs. Sort of beats the crap out of a 6 lb 12 ga single shot muzzleloader, eh? :-) 22 unit and silencer = 3/4 lb each and they MAKE the combo, really! The scope and mount are 1 lb, but offer tremendous help at checking things out without having to walk a mile to do so! Big help at hitting at dusk and dawn. The see thru mount and luminous iron sights prevent your being helpless at night. the 10. 5- barrel and 7. 5- of silencer can be disassembled and carryed in a shopping bag, attache case, gym bag, or small back pack, in 5 seconds, Reassemble to fire in 10 seconds. the caliber swap takes just 10 seconds. 80% AR lower receivers are not guns, can be finished in an hour. The rest of the guns parts can also be mailed to anyone. Paladin press and Amazon sell a couple of books on -how to make a silencer- ( for a Mini14 and the. 22lr)If you understand those books, making one for the AR is a piece of cake.

Your knowledge of wild edibles seems to be growing exponentially! Thanks for sharing it. When you said this time that the small bulbs were not worthy the effort in terms of calories, i couldn't help but remember my childhood, in which i found great joy in collecting and gorging on small plant edibles. I also remember seeing a documentary on a wild african tribe in which childs were expected to eat crickets and other insects up to a certain age and also i frequently heard in my childhood about this rural dish in brazil called -bunda de tanajura-, which is actually made up of the buttocks of big ants. Childs do need a lot of calories due to their growth, but having lightly built bodies, they dont seem to spend a lot of calories when exercising (in fact, they actually run around freely most of the time while playing. My question is: Do you think these small edibles could be a useful source of food for helping a tribe (or family) raise their young childs in wilderness? What about the sending of these childs to collect mushrooms, bulbs, and some other small edibles, could it than be a surplus caloric task for the benefit of the entire primitive family too?

. 22 lr will brain a deer or hog to 50m, the 223 will brain moose, bear, elk to 100m, and take deer, hogs to 200m with chest hits. The versatility is unmatched, even if you're not underthreat by armed, desperate people. But if shtf, you WILL be, folks. No place in the lower 48 states is more than a nights motorcycle ride and a day's walk from millions of people. It's easy to mount 5 jerry cans of gas on a bike. that means 1000 miles of road covered, and it can be done at an average of 80 mph when there's no cops.

If you know to hold shut the bolt with your non firing hand, the subsonic. 22, thru the conversion unit and the 223 silencer, sounds like a BB gun, Inaudible at 50 yds, on a cold, quiet night, open, flat ground, low humidity. Under normal conditions, inaudible at 50 FT, instead of the shotgun's telling everyone for a mile radius (-here I am and I'm too dumb to have a rifle, so come kill me, I-m EASY-)

the 12 ga takes 70 grs per shot of black powder. 7000 grs in a lb. The round ball is about 300 grs. So 2 lbs of powder and lead is just 50 shots, without even remotely the potential of the AR, no silence, no rapidfire, no concealment, no rustproof finish, no night sights, no chromed bore and chamber, no ability to use the most commonly found ammo. So it's a very dumb choice, kid stuff, really.

waikaremoana,
Hi there,
We saw your comment on a page from William Larkham Jr and thought to stop by and say good day.
We very seldom get snow in where we are, Down Under, and so we watch some of you awesome videos and thought to leave a comment and say thank you, and we proudly subbed.
Best regards from the New Zealand hunters.

can't take a compound bow on the show and can't tune one waf in the woods, either. When you can shoot over bait, disregard the laws, etc (true survival) it aint that tought to get food. One rd of 223 sp to the brain drops a moose, providing jerky for an entire year. Big fish can be shot with a. 22, in shallow water.

Yes, 1 trout lily, upon digestion, will probably make a tiny fart. People need to realize that foraging is not subsistence or self-sufficiency living. It is survival living.

using multitool or kukri, saw, sheathing from paracord, and duct tape, show us how to make a 50 ft draw, 5 ft long Penabsquat -father and son- bow and a few (blunt) arrows.

Wild edibles are there but they are a lot of work. This is why indigenous peoples lived in Tribes, close nit tribes. Food is what wars were fought over.
