Just a little heads up. The trout Lilly bulbs should not be eaten in large quantities. It is considered an emetic and will make you throw up. Research I've found though shows added to other foods could be beneficial as it has compounds that cling to cancer cells and prevents Cellular growth possibly. The leaves were used by natives as a poultice to treat skin wounds and reduce lymph swelling, ulcers and fever.
But they are tasty.

I bet you found no worms while digging? Are worms a farm animal? Are they domesticated? I hardly ever find worm digging for them in remoter areas. I still have not found any trout lilys. And the trout have been non existent, going out this even because the black flies have hit and that usually means trout. Also had some high water that put the fish off.

I feel like this is something like children could for an hour and have a pretty good quantity at the end. It would add to any meat from the hunt or food gathered or processed down. I'd imagine eyes would be out for anything during such a trip. Humanity's survival didn't happen alone, but in family groups.

Im having the same luck with the fish bro, i think I need to make some sort of offering to the fish gods. What's working well here at the moment for trout and salmon is bright pink 10mm boilies (little pink balls) on a hair rig and float setup and just trotted across the bottom.

One other thing. I was told years ago by an old fly fishing buddy the real reason it's called the -trout Lilly - is because when it blooms that's an indication that the trout are biting. And if you watch sometimes it does coincide with mayfly hatch

Ey nice video, i did a similar thing recently, prepared a meal from spring wild edibles and found it was slim pickings: D no chance of staying out of a caloric deficit. Love you videos all the best.

Wow that is flowing like the usually little creek on our only route out from where I live during this last storm we had, no getting out for 3 days due to flooding over the low water bridge.
