I understand he's young yet but man you gotta dispatch your fish when your on here demonstrating harvest ability. My superiors never did this, and 20yr later I feel like we should have been able to straighten this out by now.
2 years ago I fell into a situation where my -teachers- children (a little younger than me) and I were about to begin filleting a weeks worth of lake trout hanging under the dock in April, and they were all taken back to see that two of my trout harvested that morning, had to be bopped on the head while the rest of my trout on the stringer were dispatched after each session, while theirs hung lively all week.
I don't want to be spreading negative magic here, but life is a serious game to play with.

I can answer your question of anyone jealous. What's not to be jealous of? Beautiful wife that is actually enjoying the outdoors, a healthy son that's full of energy, a beautiful area to yourselves and great fishing. I don't need to keep going do I? You sir are living the dream. Yes we are jealous!

I know you will probably never see this comment. I just wanted to say, teaching your son the way you do, that is one of the best ways to do it. He will hold onto these skills and memories the rest of his life. It is 2021 now and I hope you are all staying safe from COVID.

The small mouth bass are actually an invasive species in your area. They are eating all of your trout and there spawn. Catch as many as you can and eat them. Feed the rest to turtles and eagles.
