I one time slept on a campground. And I think there were only 1 or two others there. And at night I woke up. Because it was pretty loud outside. And a (lol don't know how a group of them is called in english) group of boars was digging over the campground. That was scary and I knew they are doing it when they get their piglets so I didn't even dare to step out of my tent.
I had luck that my teacher was a hunter and told us things like that. Because if not I would have run to the toilet house and try to hide there. But what are the chances for me to out run a few boars? Zero. A few boars came close to my tent and sniffed around but then left and about 5 meters around my tent were basically untouched. Still was one of the scariest nights of my life.

I haven't seen you do this, but maybe you have. Try searing your meat or if you have flour at the time, try dredging your meat and then searing it before making it into soup or stew. This should give your food and more desired texture / flavor and keep the moisture in the meat.

i remember i went fly out fishing in canada we had a fish fry the night before at 3am i went for a pee off the deck. little did i know i walked right past a black bear. half way threw my pee i heard it scoff at me. glad i peed before i saw the bear 5 feet from me
