As a former athlete and coach there is definitely no substitute for work ethic. Talent only carries us so far (in most cases. If we marry superior talent with a first class work ethic we wind up with th emost potent cocktail an athlete or coach can witness. Congratulations to Holden for learning the value of hard work and preparation. Many never learn that lesson.
As a coach my brother and I used to talk to our athletes about -putting money in your bank- meaning the more work you do to prepare for success the more equity you will have in your -account- to withdraw when you need it. In other words hard work and preparation is an investment in you for your benefit.
Lastly, let me say this: I don't KNOW anything with 100% certainty so take the next comment with that in mind. I know you have been coaching and working out for a long time so I know you have heard this before and that is the risks involved with having young men lifting weights before they bones are fully hardened. I would respectfully suggest seeking another exercise you have in your arsenal to develop the same muscles in Holden.
All my best to you and your son,

I don-t know what to say for the most part but papa beard you-re killing it as a dad. If he wants something support it and encourage and you are. He-s still young and can do anything. Holden you-re killing it with the lifting and the training the next Arnold minus the steroids. You keep training and pushing for your goals you unstoppable. I grew up with video games somewhat but I was outside riding my bike skateboard scooter and playing basketball and other things and I would still rather be out fixing stuff building stuff and enjoy being outside. Still one of my favorite things is chopping wood and that-s a workout haha. Keep killing it little dude you-re on your way to something great.

Playing games online is playing together. I'm not saying it's the only way they should ever play together though. You are absolutely right to set limits. My husband's best friend lives in the czech republic, he's an English teacher there. We live in Ohio, and they make time to play games together and talk on discord because it's a way to hang out when he's not in the states. He comes home almost every summer for a month or two and they see each other then. My husband and I ride bikes, play Frisbee, Frisbee golf and go for nature hikes, but we also like to play games together. :) It's all about balance.

Wow. Good job Holden (sorry if im spellong your name wrong i am not great with spelling) but, that is so amazing all the work you put in and what you have achieved. I know this is a little bit of an older video but still. You are doing very well and should be very proud of yourself and your motivation. Keep it up and i know you will go very far with anything that you put your mind to. Everything takes work. And you seem dedicated enough to be able to get what you need to done. Good job bud!

Always love the videos beardsman! It really shows how much work is put into each and every video. As a fellow outdoorsman, I love to see others get the same enjoyment from nature as well. The leaving people behind talk was really eye opening and taught me something about relationships and how to approach them. Proud of holden and his hard work, your a strong and motivational father. Hats off to you man and I hope youtube is feeding you better than those beavers did!

Good for you Wooded Beardsman, it's awesome putting your son on the right track. Coming from a background where you live in the city 24/7 but every now and then you head to the country just to relax. Also trying to do something that you seem interested in or love doing, it takes practice and time to get there, so just believe Holden and keep working harder and harder everyday, push yourself more and more and soon it will pay off.

Thank you for the advice! I'm really going to try to incorporate that in my life more! I've done this in life before when I use to party with friends to much and got my life together for my family! Kinda lost track of it with my out door stuff and would like to get back into it again but my new friends have lost interest where I haven't! Great job to your son accomplishments with his track! Hard work pays off! Congratulations!

Keep that core tight Holden! Nice work to you young man! And to you, Dad, keep up the good work raising your son! Keep enlightening him, keep him -awake- to the TomFoolery! As Eric Thomas said, and as you said, you can-t take everyone with you! You can try, you can lead, if they choose not to follow, that-s on them. The saying of -it-s lonely at the top-, is there for a reason. Onwards and Upwards gentlemen!

Love your videos. Thanks so much for sharing your wisdom of all sorts. I was wondering if you could share with us your reasons for putting the tar paper on the inside after you put the external cladding boards on. I've always seen it done the other way around, the tar paper wrapped around the the outside, then the boards put on top of that. Thanks again for the videos: )
