Medical Update, Scope Squirrel Snipping, Deer Bow Hunt - Off Grid Log Cabin Overnight with My Wife

Courtney and I head to the off grid log cabin to spend the date night alone in the forest. We cook dinner, I hunt deer and squirrels and we hang out to enjoy the great outdoors. The log cabin was built by my brother at Modern Self Reliance, though I did help a lot with the heavy lifting of the logs and of course the filming and editing. I provide a medical update as to what all is going on with my current situation and talk about how Canada is really doing. The log cabin was build from dead pine trees that are on my brother's 40 acre property to build a log cabin sugar shack that will house a maple sap boiler so we can enjoy some delicious maple syrup in the spring. With the help of my chainsaw, I'll cut down all the overgrown and shaded out dead pines which I will cut into log to build a sugar shack. The pines in this replanted forest are fat too overgrown and have been grossly mismanaged. The trees should have be cut and thinned nearly a decade ago. Removing the dead trees is a good start to rehabilitating the forest. Later, we will thin even more and get the forest ready for replanting and rejuvenating. We will mostly be cutting trees and then getting the site chosen. It's a lot of tree felling, and hauling to get our raw materials. With the help of my chainsaw, I'll cut down all the overgrown and shaded out dead pines which I will cut into log to build a sugar shack. The pines in this replanted forest are fat too overgrown and have been grossly mismanaged. The trees should have be cut and thinned nearly a decade ago. In this part, we will start building the log cabin from the foundation up. I will use the butt-and-pass method which laps one row of logs over the other, while fastening the logs together with spikes. This is simpler and quicker because it does not require the tedious work of scribing each log and notching. A butt-and-pass corner joint on a log home creates the look of a rustic, old-fashioned cabin. As the logs are laid to create the outside corners of the building, the first log on each layer extends past the corner, and the log forming the other wall butts into the first. As the timbers are laid to build up the corner, the extended logs alternate for an effect that resembles interlaced fingers. We will continue to erect the log cabin walls from the foundation up. I will use the butt-and-pass method which laps one row of logs over the other, while fastening the logs together with spikes. This is simpler and quicker because it does not require the tedious work of scribing each log and notching. We milled all the roof strapping with our portable sawmill. The log cabin is intended to be used as a sugar shack where we can boil fresh maple sap and turn it into delicious maple syrup. The log cabin is being built on a large track of private land as part of a homestead. We have built other buildings such as the main cabin, the outhouse, the small cube, the root cellar and even dug a pond

Stomach pain is one of those really tough things to accurately diagnose without in depth (scute the pun) scans/endoscopy, etc. I have IBS, but it's been thrown out as crohn's and all sorts before finding a proper diagnosis. ONE thing I found that helps with the pain immeasurably is Aloe vera gel caplets or capsules. Aloe vera like what you'd put on a burn. BUT: get the high potency caplets/gel tablets. They will kill any pain within about 20 minutes, but don't stop your body doing what it needs to do. (I. e poop, etc. Since they're a natural plant extract I prefer to take those over ANYTHING the doctors recommend, since 90% of the time they're being paid to push a specific medication. try it. let me know how you do with it.

I'm very happy to hear you're feeling better. I have acid reflux pretty bad and it it really bothersome so I understand how you felt. I'll have to look into low acid for sure because the meds I'm on doesn't always work. You keep helping me in many ways and for that I appreciate you.
As for Canada. It really is a mess out there. Same with Australia. The pandemic is being used for political gains and power. Here in Pennsylvania and the states it is not as bad, but California is pushing kids to be vaccinated in order to go to school. Crazy times.

If its really about health they wouldn't allow us to consume tons of sugar/process food/soft drinks by the gallon. I agree, i have two teenagers at home and we all had the sickness and we faired very well thru it and have zero concern if we were to get it again. I refuse to take a treatment that i know will do nothing for me to help but could have an adverse effect on me for simply taking it. We are being treated like cattle for a sickness that has a 99. 997 survival rate. We are living is clown world for sure. Lets Go Brandon!

I agree with you on this medical mess we are in, We all should have the right to choose our own fate. My Wife and I are so glad we moved up into Northern Ontario just before this all started because nothing has really changed for us up here. We are in an unorganized township and everyone up here thinks the same so we haven t been limited by restrictions, Sucks for the people in mass populated areas. We have not seen any real difference.

You must have not read my comment when you talked about it before. Low Stomach acid is taken care of by dill pickle juice or apple cider vinegar. Doesn't take much. Have it myself. As for your everyone mind your own bodies. Have friends that are for Vaxine mandate and pro-choice. They hated when I pointed out their positions are not logical. You can't be for choice in one thing for a person's own choice and then take it away in another.

My sister and her husband and their 4 kids just sold their cattle farm in Ontario and moved to Saskatchewan to escape your crazy government. I'm in Alberta and holy shitshow batman. We own two restaurant/bars and I'm glad were frugal for the last decade. We're fine but a high percentage are going tits up.

I hear ya man. We don't have it as bad here in NB but the gov control is closer to a dictatorship than a democracy. None the less it's good to see you making content. I love how your wife like many of us outdoors type mens wives, she tags along having fun while just always trying to stay warm lol

Same SH-T going on here with restrictions, losing our rights, inflation, supply chain problems, ect. In my humble opinion it is time we as the people need to take our countries back and get things going back in the right direction! Stamp out the Communism before it gets too far!

Great to hear your better. You should get political. I m in the states and it s not not getting any better with these mandates. But at least we aren t in Australia. Keep it up!

The last scope I had into my stomach, I was totally awake they sprayed anaesthetic up my nose and put the scope up via my nose problem was my nose been broken so many time wow that was uncomfortable. good luck to u tho. stay safe and stay strong!
