We catch and cook a lake trout and cook it very traditionally using a primitive rock smoker filled with spruce covered in woodobo spices and maple syrup turned back from maple sugar. I will show you how to remove the bones completely from the trout

Thought I'd stop in and let you know I survived my bout with bronchitis (only sorta funny since a respiratory illness could kill me in my present condition. Going to be busy busy this week, putting the last minute touches on a community-wide fundraiser I've been planning for the past few months. November is World Pulmonary Hypertension Awareness month and the lady who used to do these fundraisers locally died so I did one last year and we're doing a repeat this year. A lot of work but also fun! Wish me luck, I'll probably won't be back til Sunday to watch this coming week's videos and I'll let you know how it went.
Food preservation question before I go do something useful. have you ever made beef or venison (or ya know. whatever meat you happened to catch lol) jerky in your oven? I have a dehydrator but it's never done meat well so I'm thinking I'll have to try doing it in my oven at some point

Hey I use the same batteries on my Fs700. You can go knockoff. and get 6hours per battery but you have to buy the big ones. and I recommend DSTE brand on amazon. They work great. I use them for weddings. because just like you i need long battery time. its only 40 or 50- per battery vs 250.

The best way to eat bonless trout is to cook it whole. the bones easily peel off the meat in one try, once the meat is cooked. the skin is yummy. you loose alot of meat slicing it up this way.
