In this Food Chain Fishing Challenge, we started fishing for tiny sardines and used them for bait to catch a massive Great White Shark. I was fishing off Jupiter, Florida, with Jason Boyll, Younes, Zayn, Sam, and Inga. Together, we caught and released the biggest fish ever seen on BlacktipH. ILL SAY IT AGAIN FOR THE LAST TIME! IM AN AVID HUNTER AND ANGLER! SPORT FISHING FOR SHARKS IS UNETHICAL AND CAN KILL THE SHARK. The amount of energy these animals are exerting trying to escape is meant to be conserved not burned to exhaustion. This great white will have a hard time hunting which is a direct threat to their well being as an individual. Even on regular feeding intervals great whites can take up to 4 days to recover energy after a hunt. Not only was the shark unsuccessful in gaining a resource after it burned its gonna have to rest potentially burning more nutrients from its reserves further pushing the 6 week starvation window and that’s only if they don’t die from shock. If they aren’t successful in gaining sustenance to compensate for the energy loss the shark could die.

That’s quite a catch. Congrats on a great catch and safe release. It definitely takes some skill to get that fish to the boat. Even on rod and reel it’s an extremely dangerous endeavor, not for the weekend warrior. Anybody wanting to tangle with such a beast needs to charter an operation with plenty of experience in what is nothing less than extreme fishing.
If catching a great white in 70 ft of water off Jupiter doesn’t give the multiple shark dive operators in Jupiter a reason to pause, nothing will, until an accident happens. It’s just a matter of time. It’s not a matter of if it’ll happen, it’s a matter of when.

So how is it a successful catch and release if the hook and line our still in the sharks mouth. To me thats not a successful release. How would you like a hook to be in your mouth like that for how ever long, possibly causing issues with the shark. Its people like you all that think you can just go out and do something like this and think its alright when in all honesty its affecting the eco system more than you think. But the thing is that people like you all dont think you have done a damn thing wrong regarding the release of that shark the way you all did.

if you see any idiot fishing a shark for the sole enjoyment and profit, report it immediately to the competent national authorities and to animal protection.
the shark after being fished by incompetents when it returns to freedom risks dying due to the stress it has undergone during fishing.
the shark is a policeman of the sea, it keeps the marine system balanced, and it cleans the sea, the presence of a shark means that the sea is in excellent condition.
These idiots almost certainly didn't even remove the hook from the shark's mouth.

That was a massive shark. And upside down it puts it into that catatonic immobility state. But that's also detrimental for them. Because they need water flowing over there gills constantly. Which is why they backed up in reverse to get that oxygen flow starting again. Nice beautiful catch on one HUGE beautiful fish. Soon they'll be up here on Cape Cod, MA where i live year round. And we get the big ones up here.

27: 00 you can clearly see another hook in its mouth.
It seems like it couldnt use that side of its mouth (look at its upper teeth) and used the good side of his mouth the bite the new hook.
I wonder how he'll be able to eat or even have the energy to hunt with 2 hooks in its mouth.
Don't fish anything you're unwilling to unhook
Its also illegal fishing GWS but thats a whole nother can of worms.

Not sure I like this video, in the video you show it's swimming away. It doesn't look to be swimming. His tail was just flat and it seemed to be sinking more than anything else, it definitely wasn't swimming like a normal shark, Cool footage, but I'm not sure. I'd like watching an animal. Be traumatised and exhausted so people can watch you catch it, might be an unpopular opinion

Yet I hear people all the time be like oh there's no great whites in florida tf there ain't big females come here to give birth or speed up there pregnancy while using the shallow warm water to basically tan there top halves also I've seen 2 in my hometown a baby around 3 foot at the beach and on the otherside a 14 foot monster that was eating and chasing bullreds

Not trying to hate here great footage, but isn't it illegal to pursue prohibited species like great whites You established prior to attempting hookup this was a great white shark. I know accidental hookups can happen. I'm really just curious if the regulations are different in Florida waters. Pursuing a great white in the north east here can get you in some trouble.

Between 26: 30 and 26: 40 minute mark that fellow wrapping and re-wrapping his gloved hands with that monofiliment
The shark was played out and all was well, but had it been playing possum' and had one more surge left in it, he could have lost all his fingers and half his hands, except for perhaps his thumbs.

19: 50 They don't attack us because we aren't their food source, and they know it. The reason they'll hit the buoy is because it's an inanimate object. Sharks don't have anything on their body they can use to explore other than their mouths, so they'll often bite objects they don't know to explore them.
reply

I’m sorry. I do not support this. As soon as you knew it was a GWS you should have immediately cut the line. Fish and Game need to find you and arrest or issue you a ticket.
These animals are protected and need to be left alone. I hope Florida Fish and Game see this.

While I’m not against fishing and I get you guys eventually threw the shark back in the water, which is great I’m just upset seeing that there is a hook right through the shark’s mouth. sharks like that feel pain I wish you guys remove the hook next time,
reply

Big congratulations guys! Would like to share the largest shark caught on IGFA rod and reel (technically a unofficial world record due to a technicality) was in 1986 off Montauk Long Island, by Frank Mundas who caught a 3427 pound Great White Shark

Imagine if SHEFFIELD only one team both clubs have averaged over 56K fans in the championship with the biggest one having a Nightmare owner with most experience tickets
Leeds are a good club so good luck to them

If you're a smart spearo you're not in the water alone. We have the advantage of seeing what's under the water. They want to sneak up on you. I don't know anyone that would stay in the water. I'm way more worried about tigers and bulls.
reply

They didn't show it so I'm sure they didn't, but unless they took a bot cutter to that hook, it's in that fish for years. Stop intentionally hooking fish you don't have the equipment to release safely for angler and animal alike.
reply

I thought it was illegal to intentionally target Great White Sharks in the U. S. A.
From what I can see this is still the case. As it is in Australia and South Africa.
Has this changed Or do you just not care

reply

I thought seeing a shark and recognising it’s a great white, means you can’t target it with baits You can accidentally catch them, but this was no accidental hookup. They identified it then cast to it.
reply

Did anyone see the shark swim away I only saw it sinking. Even though they said something about reviving the shark because they knew it needed to keep moving to breathe they just let it go.
Terrible
