Josh and Justin from LakeForkGuy find an epic bonito blitz offshore We started the day off trolling. Justin hooked up and landed a giant bonito (aka false albacore. Shortly after we saw some bonito blowing up on a weed line. We threw some casts, but only caught blue runners. Both Justin and Josh decided to troll along the weed line. Within a few minutes, both reels started screaming All of a sudden, the water started boiling half a mile north of us We raced over there and found the most epic bonito blitz either of us had ever seen

Ok, just so we're all on the same page. The fish in this video are False Albacore (aka Little Tuny, Bonita, fat alberts) which are gross. Bonito (aka Atlantic Bonito) are delicious, and also a completely different fish. There are a few ways to tell them apart. False Albacore (Bonita) are fat like tuna, and have broken lines on top. Bonito have unbroken lines on top. (another fun fact, if you see lines on the bottom, that's a skipjack tuna. However, by far the easiest way to tell False Albacore (Bonita) and Bonito apart is: Bonito have teeth like a mackerel, and False Albacore (Bonita) do not. Hope that helps.

How can you not like catching bonito is practically the same as how can you not like catching bluefish up here in the Northeast. Lots of surfcasters up here who consider bluefish trash when they'd rather go for big striped bass, while a 10 pound bluefish never gives up and has speed and a bigger striped bass will tire out quickly. Skipping that lure for those 20 pound bonito and throwing a freshwater frog lure for an 8 pound bonito is just like the voracious yellow-eyed devils with those piranha-like teeth up here. Speed, power, and aggressiveness.

0: 16 I fell queasy This wunderful amazing creature and I don't mean the killer with sunglasses Sorry, but you proof with your vids, BlacktipH, US american males are as proud as empty-headed. You destroy animals and habitats. I swear one closeby day it will be an US american 38 years old male that crows with his last breath: But it is us who destroyed the planetRah-rah-patriotism.

I find Captain maybe you coild answer this question. If tied tail to tail. Thrust to thrust. Power to power. .Can a 5 Lb. Bonito. Drown. a 10 Lb Lunker Largemouth. A Florida Largemouth bass. Maybe even pull so. hard itll have that Bass skipping backwards on the water. In this piscatorial Tug of War. Me and a friend had a debate over this. Your imput would be appreciated

any lead head lure could be considered a jig it is probably the most versatile as well as being the first commercially marketed fishing lure Jacque Herter famous outdoorsman& survivalist opted for the bucktail jig in a doomsday scenario I find your statements misleading& immature towards your younger viewers suggest you deep jig the fads for Alison tuna & tell us how it went

Great video, looks super fun. I caught some bonito on the fly today In Massachusetts. Bonito are different than Albies. You guys were catching false albacore. The lines on the back are an easy way to tell. Bonito have straight lines and Albies have squiggly almost worm looking lines.

Can someone explain to me the difference between bonita, bonito, false albacore and a baby tuna? Everyone has mixed thoughts on this. Im pretty sure we catch Pacific Bonito here in San Clemente Pier CA. Everyone says Bonita and false albie are bad to eat but Bonito are tasty.

I am from Wisconsin and have only fished freshwater but really want to try surf fishing for sharks or any saltwater species, just wondering where a good spot to start would be and also what rod and reel you recommend to start with for surf fishing.
