Fishing for Christmas Dinner in the Bahamas using Hand Lines - 4K

Tommy and I went fishing for snapper in the Bahamas using hand lines and the goal was to catch enough snappers for his family Christmas dinner. We left early from Old Bahama Bay Resort and traveled to one of Tommy's secret snapper spots. Immediately after we started chumming, the snapper started to bite. In a few hours, we managed to catch enough snapper to feed all of Tommy's family for their Christmas dinner.

I am watching your videos for quite a long time now Josh. Generally I like every single one of them. There is something i don't understand though and maybe you can explain it to me. Apparently you put the fish on ice without killing them first. When i keep a fish, i usually kill it right away. I kill it before i even take the hook out. I do that for, what I think, obvious reason not to let the fish feel more pain than necessary. How do you do it? Thanx for the good work with the vids and merry christmas

I just caught 2 of the those snappers and i was wondering what they were. I also caught some very tiny yellow tailed jack probably about 3 quarters of a pound. There was some huuggge reds but our shrimp, unfortunately, was not big enough for the 20 pound fish. If anyone is interested I fished at Key Vista National Park in I believe Pasco County Florida. I used hand picked size live shrimp. if you fish there follow the trail all the way down. I fished while the tide was coming in.

Handlining is great. I've tried. Really cool. I pull the line through my left hand, and pull the line with my right. I squeeze my left hand and hold the line put, while I recock my right arm and and hand to pull in another arm's length of line. We used a stripping bucket to hold line. Inexpensive 20lb. mono line did it well for me. Inexpensive J-hooks. We used leather fingerless gloves.

Where in the world do you get all the time and money to do these videos? I would think you would have to have a giant pile of cash to just do this and not have a regular job. What am I missing? Love the videos. Just don't understand how you get to do them all over the place. Kinda jealous I guess. Ha-ha. I love to fish, but work and family commitments get in the way. What's your secret?

I love this video, great folks having a great time fishing It also proves all those fancy bass anglers wrong, you don't need thousands of dollars in fishing equipment to have a good time. Even if u don't have a boat you can handline fish from the bank easy.

Does he really fry the fish without gutting or scaling it? I would like to know because if I can do away without cleaning fish I would eat a little poop. lol. Seriously, do Bahamians fry their fish without cleaning it?
