Download the Fishbrain: I traveled to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to meet up with my good fishing buddy Eric Haataja to search urban rivers for giant brown trout. There are rumored to be monster 25+lb brown trout in the river that we were fishing. We began our search climbing up and down the hillside of the river. Eric and I were both using spinnerbaits and spawn sacks on floats to catch fish. On the first day of fishing, we managed to catch a mixture of brown trout, coho salmon and steelhead (rainbow trout. We saw some monster brown trout jumping out of the water, but they didn't bite. The second day of fishing was much colder. Early in the day at the first fishing location, I caught a solid brown trout. As the day progressed, the fishing grew tougher. After several hours, Eric hooked a big steelhead. Shortly after releasing the big steelhead, Eric hooked another big fish It was a brown trout, the biggest brown trout of the trip We ended the day with this fish. I didn't find the giant brown trout that I was looking for on this trip, but I will be back in Milwaukee soon to try again.

There is something to be said about fishing, it's diverse. Different places have different practices and different traditions. But one thing that really chaffes my choad is when people don't show respect for the fish/resource. Throwing a fish like that back into the water instead of properly releasing it is a huge no no here in Virginia. That might be how salt water anglers do it or bass anglers but hard core trout fishermen would never do that to a fish of that caliber. Consider that next time you fish in a different state for a different species, it'll go a long way towards making your viewers happy.

after I saw that I'm sick of how you two creatures handle beautifull troutes like that and have ABSOLUTELY NO RESPECT AT ALL FOR NATURE AND ITS BEEINGSIn Europe we would take your license and give you a fee, maybe even court for such behaviour You both don't deserve fishes, bears or even a single leeve on a tree Do all that sick stuff you're doing (and I'm not only talking about handling the coho like two freaks) with you sharks but please stay away from such pristine and divine fishes like thosePLEASE, do us all a favor

You should also try to target bull trout, and tiger trout, both fun and aggressive fish. PS, Normally river fish will live when hooked deep, and also as a trout farmer, when we did tests using tagged fish, we gut hooked fish and cut the line, and 95% of the 171 fish survived, but spawning fish are different, so either way, stick with your instincts.

Now I know this comment isnt going to be seen but the fish handling in this video seems very poor. I did not see anyone wet their hands before handling the fish to protect the slime coat of trout. If this was done and I wasnt aware then disregard this comment. The fish in this videos were all very nice sized trout and should be handled with respect.

Hey Josh my name is Jacob and I am in sixth grade doing an animalia project and I chose sawfish because they are interesting and because you caught a huge sawfish and I'm trying to find a picture of it to put on my poster and almost all of my classmates love your videos. Thankyou

I almost have the vibe that. because you caught so many big fish that these trouts and salmon are cake. having to use lighter lines and rods to compensate for a good fight. Im sure you enjoyed it, but just from the video, your excitement and adrenaline isnt like sea fishing.

Here in Canada, we fly fish for bull trout they are fun, especially on fly gear, we also have tried putting a whitefish head on a hook, and caught a 39 inch bull trout. Brown trout, and steelheads are also fun on the fly as well. Great video.

If you are fishing catch and release why don't you use barbless hooks? I've used nothing else for 35 years. With a barbless hook even a small forked twig will remove a hook if you forget the pliers you need to wrench the barbed hook out.

I know a bass pond near me that has a creek that has creek chubs it is really small but I went there and saw a massive coho swimming in it I was so surprised to see it in a tiny creek
