Hay Guy's. I got to ask just like many others are asking or feeling. What was the poupous for all this Are you trying to make us feel sorry for you all going out and making these videos for us Yes, we already know that going out with a boat and fishing the way you do is very expensive. If you're trying to tell us, it's too much to do this than you should stop going out so often. I enjoy watching you two so much, but a video like this makes me feel sorry you're spending so much to entertain us.
I will say it is fishing out in the ocean. It's not cheap, but it is fun. The cost is real, but when you look at it as entertainment you have to figure there is always a cost. No matter if you enjoy it, we enjoy watching. Thanks for sharing with us and for all the time and money you share with us every trip out.
We love you both!
Thanks Again,
Carl

I fish in my retirement. I fish freshwater lakes and inshore saltwater. For freshwater I have a very high quality 16. 25’ aluminum boat with latest electronics and I find your video very interesting. I considered cost and reliability in all my fishing related purchases. I also considered the ease of self service on my Honda outboard as required feature in my purchasing decision. My cost per trip is $67 using your 10 year depreciation model. My biggest expense yearly is storage at $1100 for six months of climate controlled storage. That’s a lot more than I expected.
The best deal is my saltwater expense. It’s my brother’s Grady White and he pays the whole tab. There is nothing better than a fishing partner that has an awesome boat.

So not true--- I fish 75-90 days a year---My cost to fish in the State of Wisconsin where I live is maybe $3000 a year. catch so many meals of great eating Walleye--Crappie--Perch standing on shore and piers with little or no cost. use the Boat ( cost $8000--- 12 years ago -- little to no maintenance--and gas cost very minimal as I fish small lakes ) Travel in truck 12-15 miles per boating trip. You are the IDIOTS--not most of us. Hey but if you want to spend that much to catch those smelly fishy tasting fish--that's your choice and I say enjoy it. BUT TO THINK it costs the vast majority of fisherman the expenses you pay is ridiculous. I think my cost to fish and catch fish daily is probably $5--25 a day.

B. O. A. T. = Break Out Another Thousand. I feel your pocket pain. Ky boat and trailer are now 23 yrs old. I repowered my boat 2 years ago to the tune of 14, 500. I've had electrical problems and had my wiring redone 3 yrs ago to the tune of 850. Trailer axel rusted out and broke 3 yrs ago. Tow and repair was 850. Yearly service of motor average 350 (I put on less than 75 hrs a year. It adds up but I love it. (I also don't catch anywhere near the number of fish you do) I boat in Long Island Sound and trailer 80 miles roundtrip maybe 20-25 trips a year. Seatow membership has gone up to 250 a year (worth it for peace of mid mostly) which I've used 3 times in past 20 years.

Terminal tackle will make or break your day. I'll pay double for Sampo ball bearing swivels and their coast lock snap swivels.
Been there and done that with lines being bitten off and losing a $30-40 lure and another $4-5 hook. Barracuda, Wahoo, and shark will cut through 80-100 pound test leader in a heart beat. Now all I'll use is the vinyl coated stranded cable and double crimps.
Puddin', don't get started on slow pitch jigging where you can lose 4 jigs in an hour.
On the plus side, get Darcie to sell Bonita strips. That will pay for lunch and a Land Shark or two.

I understand that. And people should also understand you won't catch large fish from the surf like you do when you're deep sea fishing. However, you can fish pretty cheap from the beach and still catch interesting sized species for dinner. I fish with a 10ft Shimano rod ($50) 5000 Rapala Arachnid reel ($50) and a 6ft Drasry cast net ($40. From where I'm at (Colombia) I've caught 1-5lb catfish (we don't throw them back, 0. 5-1lb snappers and pompano. Heck, I've even catched pompano with my cast net!

Dude. Listen. If you start to concern yourself with costs, you lose focus.
Granted, I am merely an amazing shore angler. My costs are strictly minimum.
I have almost $3, 000 in tackle and lures/baits/reels in my car at any given time. I break baits, lose lures, and lose fish. But I fish nearly every day! Why Because I WANT TOO!
Don’t do it because you feel like you need to. Do it again because you WANT TO!
Love y’all. I just want you to be happy. Stop worrying and just love.

it only costs that much in america. in the phillipines they fish from simple skiffs with small outboards, and they use traditional hand lines, not thousand dollar rods and reels. i've watched their you tube videos that show the native people catching yellow tail tuna up to 80 pounds and swordfish up to 400 pounds, all on handlines. those people are skilled fishermen who live in poverty, but their poverty doesn't stop them from catching big-game fish.

Another great video guys. Love this content! The beautiful thing of having buddies with larger rigs that fish pelagics. I’m more than willing to pay a few hundred bucks a trip and not have to deal with bank loans or high maintenance of owning an offshore rig. fish my small whaler on my inshore days on $20 buck per day budget just more sensible at this pointing my life. with retirement less than a decade away I’ll be getting that bigger rig soon

600 a day i have two boats I'll be unlucky to spend 600 in 6 mouth's in running and fishing cost i use the 16ft every weekend to get a feed of crabs so everyone can shit crabs for the week the 24ft glass boat I'll go out to the great barrier Reef one's a month witch is only 20 miles from my backyard the food i catch save me a lot of money at the supermarket so for me it's cheaper to own a boat than not to own one.

Over here on the west coast of Florida our fuel costs are astronomical because we need to cruise out at least a hundred miles to get into water deep enough to find the big fish. It's great you guys have the gulf stream pretty close.
Now Brian, you look fabulous brother! Slim, hair looks great - keep doin' what you're doin'!
Love you guys!

Got me a 15ft Triumph with a 1984 Yamaha 70hp(a beast. runs like a top. starts first try every spring & flies) on a barely used trailer for $4K. 5yrs ago. Only use it about 20-25x a year but have only put about $500 into it (seats, used oil tank, o-rings, spark plugs, impellor, guide rails for trailer) in 5yrs. feels like a win.

the cost of fishing simply can not be compared to sponsored equipment. From the boat, the tackle, to the riggs. they started and had to build to this point. fishing is a hobby and can not be measured in cost. weather its pond sun fish, river bass or pelagic s we fish the budget we have.

It's just like they say. BOAT= Break Out Another Thousand. It doesn't help that saltwater just eats everything. I've been lucky so far this year with mine, only had to replace one battery and eff'd up a prop. Next year will be time for a water pump replacement and some new sonar.

Your Boats don't look like they're 21 years old. They look Great! Do a couple of Charter Days' from time to time(2 pl Max) when you go out to do a video. I'm sure you've already thought of that idea and have plenty of good reasons why not to. Thanks for the video.

A sponsered content creator whining about the costs of fishing. Priceless. Hate to break it to ya, but stolen elections have coincidences, and things are tough all over. You could try getting a real job and fishing on a budget like the rest of us do.

The price we pay to be on the water and fishing. Have to calculate the enjoyment factor of being on the water and catching fish. If you try to justify it go to Publics and buy fish and go play golf instead.
