Nice job on the removal of the hook from the pelican. Too many people simply cut the line and assume the bird will be fine. This attitude is pitiful. Cover their eyes and they allow you to do what needs to be done if one really cares.

Hey guys that was an excellent job with doing what was right on getting the hook off of the pelican. Textbook catch and release. And those jacks, they sure looked like a lot of fun catching those monsters!

This happened to me fishing Shinnecock Inlet NY for False Albacore this summer twice by black Cormorants. Being up on a jetty I had no choice but to cut the line, they always go after the epoxy jigs.

Yes that's a Porkfish Darcie (Anisotremus virginicus. very beautiful member of the grunt family and much beloved by tropical marine aquariums.
