17' Aluminum Boat through the Most Dangerous Inlet in Florida

I live in NC and will mostly do fresh water mostly but I would like to trailer 4 hours away to Murrells Inlet SC. I dont plan to go out very far but I would like to leave the inlet.
At first I was looking at pontoons but now Im thinking of center consoles. Man Im so confused? Ive had Bass Boats all my life but when it comes to salt water I dont know what the hell to do?

If you really want a challenge come try to cross the Columbia River Bar here in Oregon. The most dangerous bar in the world, the Graveyard of the Pacific. About 2, 000 large vessels have been lost and over 700 crew have died from the crews of those 2, 000 plus many, many smaller boats and many more people from those. Just last year a 36 foot sportfisher capsized, only 3 of the 5 crew found.

Have you guys ever had any hooks through the hand accidents. What with the amount of fishing you do especially using lures with little trebles and handling all the fish you do, it's only a matter of time really.

I would rank Boynton 3rd behind Boca and Sebastian. Almost got capsized coming out of Boca when a 10' set popped up after passing point of no return 3rd wave broke right on us, almost lost my dog!
