Bonitos and false albacores are different fish! False albacore is another name for little tunnies, but are not bonitos. You can tell the difference because bonitos have stripes on their ventral side whereas little tunnies have more of a woodgrain pattern like the ones y'all were catching in this video. I'm a marine tech student and just went offshore fishing for my first time last week and landed a little tunny which I also mistook to be a bonito, but my professors showed me different!

Hi guys in your sea you don't have the problem of anisakis? In Mediterranean sea eat fish without cooking or freezing is very dangerous for the anisakis that is a parasite that survive in our stomach.
I was a fish seller for many years and i see a lot of this parasite in every species from Mediterranean sea and nord Atlantic ocean

Bonito is good to eat but everyone is a puss. so whatever! Bring a bottle of soy sauce and wasabi next time, you would never know the difference if served at a restaurant if prepared correctly! It's all in your mind.

Nice vid. But to each is own. I'll eat false alby cuz I love bumble bay tuna. Its all how you prepare it. N im a fitness freak so when i get my boat ill be reppin jax fl false alby sashimi all the time.

As a friendly suggestion you might want to try putting a sacrificial piece of mono between the weight and the slide, if the weight gets hung up the mono will break and you will still have the fish.

Rinse it off with salt water or soy sauce & eat! I could have eaten half that fish myself! As far as parasites, Sake takes care of that! Cheers!

Not trying to be Mr. Knowitall but, the fish at 2: 44 is a False Albacore (worm-like markings) not a Bonita (bars. Albies taste bad, Bonita are great.
