Enjoyable two parter with an impressive range of interesting species, thanks John.
We are thinking about the Gran Canaria as a winter destination when travelling becomes normal again and will definately be taking a travel rod. Did you try fishing at any of the other parts of the island, for example Patalavaca, Arguineguin, Puerto Rico or Puerto de Mogan?
Have ever you fished the French Mediterranean coast near the Spanish border? Some whopping Dentex to be caught around there!

Hi john in heading to gran canaria in May I tried fishing last year in lanzerote from the shore and managed a few species on bread corn and squid, there was a shop selling small mackeral feathers when i was there i was wondering if these work well from the shore in the canaries as i may take some along this year when i go to gran canaria

I've just finished watching both Canary videos. What great sport on light tackle, and such a variety of beautiful small fish with the occaisional big one. I've learned a lot thanks. I'm really impressed with your knowledge of all the different species. Did you fish any other marks? Did you do any lure fishing for bigger predators?

I've got about the same set up for travelling that you have and earlier on this year I caught a 3 to 4lb Barracuda in the Greek Islands and boy was that a challenge and BELIEVE it you won't want to go near them teeth at all
