Nice days angling John
Got out myself on Thursday, 7 different species, a 5lb ling being the best of the day
Red Gurnard babies provided the most amusement catching them 2 at a time in 90 feet on sabinki's trying for launce, had over a dozen
beautiful fish, stunning, caught a really big pouting as well, 3 nice ballen wrasse, whiting and mackerel plus a couple of pollock,
my target species was plaice, none taken though, it blow up early evening, and as we where only 300mtrs from the rocks on drifts it was time for shore
and home, ling tasted lovely in a beer batter, small baby potatoes and mushy peas.
Stay Safe bud, Hannah and James also, keep it lit. - and tight lines.

I can see some gulls there looking for fishies or scraps: D
By the way why you don't use a swivel (had to look for its English name) to avoid the line from snapping when the conger start spinning?
Once my father said when one was fishing on a boat it was wise to bring a club because you could end with a hooked moray, and no sane person would drag it alive inside the boat (moray jumps in, fishers jump out.

Would a swivel tied on the end of your snood and then the hook put through the swivel prevent the eels from sinning your hook line-I use a long hair rig on a 3/0 hook when fishing dead baits for pike. Hooks them in the side of the mouth every time and makes it soo simple to remove. Haven-t used trebles for years on my pike fishing. Always looking to improve fish safety in my fishing-

John excellent video. You once told me better for live bait rig to use the in lock line thru egg lead into a trace rather than a running ledger because of a chance of tangling around. Although you meant I think of the live bait tangling itself around. But wouldn-t this type of setup will work well also with a stinger trace and prevent the eel from tangling the line?

Hi John, sorry I have not been commenting lately, I'm still watching.
Hope you and yours are doing well.
I strangely enjoy catching pouting over wrecks/reefs like that. Always want to see if I can pull up a monster. A 5lb pouting would be something else.

Its really confuse me when you hold small fish and you say its big then you catch very tall fish then you say its small or normal size -
I need to learn more about these fishes to follow you up.
Nice fishing video-
I miss clams and oyster costal videos
