James is so lucky to have a mom n dad that takes such an interest in him. I did the same thing with my kids. Not only are you foraging but explaining every sea creature and shell fish you find. Its a great education as well as a survival skill. Great job Fish Locker Dad. I see your attractive wife is also with you on the hunt. Great combo. There is no Success that will compensate for Failure in the Home. Southern Calif does not have quite the variety of sea shore foraging as does central and northern Calif, but a good Grunion run, with a midnight bonfire, is almost a religious experience.

It's amazing how large the muscles of the scallops are in proportion to the size of the shells - I'd always figured the necessary shells to be _MUCH_ larger!
Years ago I purchased some HUGE scallop shells, at least _TWICE_ the size of the largest you found in _EITHER_ this video - or the similarly named video of 2 years ago. Those shells were sold commercially as -reusable serving dishes- for --Coquille San Jacques-, - but I'd sure like to see the size of the scallop muscles THEY held!

Reminds me of when my family and I used to fish and forage for berries along the way. Have always wanted to forage along the coast and get some fresh clams and scallops. You remind me of my father who always emphasized being sustainable when we went out and made sure we left nature just how we found it. Great to see how informative you are about sustainability! It will definitely help me and other people be more aware of our impact and do a better job at preserving the environment!

It's brilliant to see you guys out there with mother nature. Here in the States, at least where I've been, requires paper work(permits, traveling, gear to be used and of course, most of our waters here are man-made and restocked. Also, finding a spot to put up a quick fire to cook is usually a ticket from the patrolling officer.
It's just a nice fresh breath of air to watch you and your family enjoying something so peaceful and stress free. At least on camera!

Love the video, and even learned some new things just in case I ever forage along our California sea coast line!
I've seen you prepare your meal, and have to confess it looks very tasty. But I must ask, what do you drink with your meals? I would assume you'd be pretty thirsty with the heat of the food, and near the seaside?
Cheers from L. A!

I was wondering if you've caught any of the Leon the Lobster videos? A man, Brady Brandwood, bought a grocery store lobster and he now lives in a tank in a home. It's very interesting. very. I love your vids. You're so knowledgeable. So with that. I was wondering if you could tell if Leon is a male or a female? Thanks for all your vids. love them

I love watching your videos, your knowledge is excellent and you are very entertaining. I live down in west Cornwall and you have inspired me to get out and do some more foraging myself. So far I have only collected some very tasty mussels but soon I will be on the hunt for lobsters and clams. Thank you for sharing all of this with us.

Love these videos! Keep it up and I can-t wait to cross over the pond to get my own seafood to try! Can-t wait to do that and do you have any ideas of where I should try to get my own seafood while over there? Beaches, waterways, or whatever you think is best?

This makes me feel nostalgic. When i was younger, we used to live in Oman and my family would always go fishing and foraging for seafood too. We camp out and swim at sunrise. It's really fun to do. This video is absolutely amazing! Thanks for making these.
