Cormorants have always been a part of Ontario but almost died out. They are useful because they eat mainly non-sport fish like the invasive Round Goby.
But now they've bounced back even stronger than before. And in these numbers the amount of damage they cause is ridiculous. Shame you can't eat them though. At least they might look nice stuffed!

I would like to help but I'm not a avid hunter and do not have a licence to hunt. That being said, make it so sport shooters can use them for target practice at no cost and I will not mind spending money on ammo and supplies to help.

It makes sense, given what we see and smell. As for the numbers, there's no science to show 143, 000 to be an accurate number and no science to show that each cormorant eats on average 16 ounces daily. Just saying.

hell of a situation with those cormorants. Cootes Paradise here in Hamilton looks like a burn down where they roost, stink is awful
