Maine has a long legacy of excellent fly fishing for species such as Smallmouth Bass, Brook Trout and Landlocked Salmon. In this special video Tom Rosenbauer and Mark Melnyk visit one of the oldest and most famous sporting lodges in the country, Weatherby-s. They are guided on some famous and historic Maine rivers for both Smallmouth Bass and Landlocked Salmon and discuss the tactics, flies and techniques needed for success. Wonderful full-length show produced in one of the prettiest states in the eastern United States!

I fished pre-spawn SB in the Allegheny River every year from 1963-1976. The action was incredible with up to 20 fish a day. After the water warmed up it was juvenile bass on tiny poppers wading the shallows. I moved West in 1976 and never had a chance to do this again. The video brought back some fond memories of fantastic bass fishing on my old Shakespeare fly rod back in Western NY. Thanks so much!

One of my favorite places in my home state to fish! Although a golden retriever is a local favorite on GLS it is actually a Pennsylvania fly. Too bad Tom left his streamer box at the cabin. Thanks for showing some of Maine!

I fish on the St. Croix system from across the border, GLS is on the list for Maine destinations when the borders open and I can travel safely! I would-ve been chucking a big grey ghost on a sink tip for those salmon.

What type of line were you using for the smallmouth I'm assuming some type of sinking line? If you were to have one line besides a floater what would it be? Thanks for the terrific show.

There weren't many days this spring I didn't spend my time out fishing GLS. It's a shame I didn't run into you out on the river. Great video as always!

3: 16 - that is one of my favorite fishing spots in the world. Up and down stream of the lake there can be incredible dry fly fishing for bass in the river

Nice, fished GLS from the early 70's to the the early 90's. I know every rock in the stream even today.
