Good video. You do not need a range of different lines. A good sink tip line covers everything (besides topwater. 9 weight is not the most popular for musky. 10-12. Stay away from 8-9 weights. Pike do not gravitate to deeper water in the Fall. Bigger pike come in shallower chasing baitfish to put on weight for Winter. Also, pike are more of a coldwater species and musky are more of a warm water species. Thanks for posting!

Great video Tom --. Have court Pike on a fly rod, can be a knuckle buster -. Have tried many times for a Musky in Ontario -, had plenty of follows but No hook ups. My favorite fresh water fish to catch on a fly rod is Carp, fight why harder than Pike. My P. B here in B. C -- is 22lb 6oz, on a floating dog biscuit -. A 25 minute battle on a 4-5 weight rod.

Good tutorial, may want to include proper release tools in your next one. Long handled pliers, jaw spreaders, hook cutters, net or cradle, etc.

I was fishing with a 4 weight on the upper Potomac for small mouth and had my rod shattered by a muskie. Great lesson in humility.
