SLAB SEASON! Marcel and I found safe ice in North West Ontario. Tough to beat some first ice Black Crappie action! As well I answer my most commonly asked question. what camera should I get for filming fishing?

Becoming a big fan of your videos, great content! Awesome slow mo shot!
Thanks for the tips on filming, what do you use for editing a computer/editing software? My computer constantly lags when editing, any pointers on that?

Jay, would you be concerned if you tied into a pike with the Dipstick? When I'm panfishing I sometimes hook into pike or bass incidentally and wonder how the Dipstick would hold up. Any observations appreciated brother.

Awesome video Jay! Good camera tutorial too man. I have noticed a lot more folks using their phones to film. Nice catches as well. That Crappie around 5: 19 was so pretty. I have never seen one that color before. Take care!

Jay biggest question is how do you keep your phone warm enough when its cold out to not die from being so cold and I happen to pick up the audio and I can not get it working I dont understand anything to help?

Yep. I film with my phone, Gopro hero 7 black, and Canon XA11. They all have their place, but I actually prefer my Gopro over my main cam for fishing just because of the size factor alone.

You should do a series this winter demonstrating how to find different species throughout the winter, from early ice to late ice. An episode on each major gamefish species would be sick!

Another video hitting the nail on the head. It's the story telling aspect that really resonates with people. I have shot a lot of my videos on my phone and still use it quite often.

ya for sure and with more expensive cameras comes more expensive problem and mistakes. And like you said it story and you tell a good story so I've been watching and enjoying!

Great content. Have done a lot of summer fishing on Blindfold lake out of kenora. Would like to see some hard water fishing on blindfold if u get a chance.

Some great Tips Jay, i do agree that what you can afford is ideal but coming more into view these days is the capabilities of a basic mirroless camera!
