SUMMER FISHING DEEP BASS (Expectations vs Reality)

SUMMER FISHING DEEP BASS (Expectations vs Reality)

Bass fishing in summer can be hit or miss sometimes. Besides the early and late evening topwater bass feeding, it can be a challenge to find the bass on deep spots like ledges, road beds, brush piles, standing timber and humps. Today I'm on Lake Ray Roberts trying to figure out some deep fishing spots for bass in the summer using the electronics on my skeeter bass boat. One fishing freak figured out the best bite using Googan Baits trench hogs from Googan HQ

I understand your frustration more than you will ever know. I have been bass fishing Kirr lake (Buggs Island) in Virginia for many years and it changes every day. Between the monster dam changing the water level down 3-8 foot in a couple days and ever changing mother nature. It has to be the hardest lake to catch large mouth in my mind. I hope you catch Mondo's on your next trip.

Maybe it's me but I can't find your rod. I only saw a 7'2'' on lfg section of favorite USA.
Also thanks for posting this. I think we can all relate to the struggle of just landing one and how exciting it is when you finally land one.

I have so much trouble with the hooking fish on the Carolina rig. I always feel the tappy tap but can never hook up. I know it catches fish but I hate it. My step dad always makes me throw it. He can catch them. Any suggestions?

Well we know if the bass are deep this episode will me more crappie and white bass than largemouth fishing. Sit down behind those graphs and use'em.

Live just north of Ray Roberts so I fish it quite a bit. It's a tough lake for me. I could show you so many places not to catch fish.
