I'm preparing to hunt whitetail with my self bow for the first time ever! In order to get a deer with a primitive style bow, I need to be close! I'm scouting to find a location with the right deer and right cover to make this hunt a success! Lethal1160: I personally shoot trad myself, and I wear a flannel and some cargo pants. All I use would be the scent killer wash for the washer, let it dry on a line or hung up, then take a neck gaiter and a few of those scent wafers. I don't worry about the constant spraying. Just get a stick of that no scent or natural earth antiperspirant. I was taught that way and still have luck that way lol

Hunter public land opening weekend. Saturday morning didn t have any scent spray or what not just wearing regular hunting clothes. Had a doe blow at me 80 yards away I wasn t moving and she was in brush couldn t have shot even with gun. Had an 8 come in at 35 yards, was moving very little and he got my scent too and ran. After I went and got scent spray and ever calm stick scent. Sunday morning had 5 does all around me 360 degrees for about an hour with swirling winds. None busted so only one hunt with the scent control and seems to work.

Nope, scent killer and the other various brands have been proven not to work. Tested with sniffing dogs in various ways. If it can't beat a dog's nose, it surely can't beat a deers, considering deer have wayyyy better sense of smell than even the best sniffing dogs.
Snake oil! Basically dropping 20 on a spray bottle of water essentially lol, just hunt the wind!
I used to smoke while I was hunting (before I quit) and have had to put out cigarettes to grab the bow/gun etc to make a shot

My experience is deer are at their highest alert status when they're feeding they don't like being in the open. Going to be hard to fool them. The scent spray, every little thing helps. But be honest you just got to catch em slipping. Dry weather helps a lot the wetter the weather the better they smell.

I use dead down wend sent stuff bath, close wash, fild spray and hand wipes, I spent 14 at Walmart for a box kit. I have been using the same thing for 5 years. Love the stuff had a doe down wend of me 10 yard shot her at 19 yes it works

Scent killer really helps but wind direction truly what matters. Spray is more for like bow hunters only who hunt within that 20/30 yard range and when deer gotta get close. Or for those who bear hunt spray is a big help

This is a genuine question, I'm not trying to be an arsehole, but how is having a feeder which you then harvest a deer from, not baiting? Again, a genuine question. I'm in the UK and we have shitty laws

This is my least favorite portion of the year with LFG. It's cringe worthy to call checking corn feeders, scouting. The self bow is cool though, at least he can't shoot one from the porch with it.
