Skip us talking and watch us fish 3: 00 Alec and I did some Topwater snakehead fishing with Zoom Horny Toad plastic frogs. We got kicked out of some neighborhoods by Crazy Condo Comandos! We got chased by one guy for a 1/4 mile, getting yelled at in spanish and being recorded the whole time. Be careful out there and know when to leave! Other than the few altercations, we had a great time and killed 7 snakeheads, for the table and for swordfish bait for our friends. FWC strongly advises anglers to kill these fish as they are invasive, but we often release them unless we are going to eat or use them for bait, as we believe it is pointless to kill, for the sake of killing.

I am currently stationed in Japan and I have a 150 Gallon aquarium with a bullseye Snakehead or the Channa Marulius and he is the coolest fish I have ever had. They are the most intelligent snakehead, they have the broadest diet ( which translates to easiest to maintain ) and they grow to a managable length of about 3 feet if given the room. If you guys can net one of the babies live and take good care of it I would be glad to buy it from you for my aquarium. They are the most enjoyable and interactive fish I have ever owned. They are similar to a dog or a cat in their interactive nature and they are smart enough to know different people. hmu if you guys net some frey out there and good luck!

Looks like you guys are mostly catching Bullseye Snakeheads and some pretty good sized ones! They really like bugs and crustaceans likes shrimp and crayfish. Also, they have a lot of teeth and can survive for 3 to 4 days out of water so be careful handling them! They have been labeled by Fish and Wildlife as traumatic because they can cause injury to humans. I have let mine bite me and he can do some damage with those little teeth. Looks like you guys are having a lot of fun! Once again, if your interested let me know and I would love to come to Florida and get a young one for my tank. Bullseye get to 20 pounds in Asia so good luck with the big catch guys! Have fun as always!

Cool video. But snakehead are invasive. They were introduced to the US and have taken over some ponds and lakes. The reason they thrive over other fish is because the snakehead isn't natural and the natural fish aren't used to as much competition. The snakehead is much more aggressive so it can compete for food much better than bass. Snakeheads also carry diseases and transfer them to other fish. That's a couple reasons why they need to be killed.

Unlike snakeheads, peacock bass were introduced to south Florida between 1984 and 1987 by the FWC. These fish were introduced to increase predation on illegally introduced and abundant exotic forage fishes, especially the African spotted tilapia, as well as to enhance freshwater sportfishing opportunities in the metropolitan Miami-Ft. Lauderdale area

Heading out this weekend, to go snake hunting. Already gave it a go last weekend, but oddly enough hooked and lost a small tarpon lol. Hitting sunrise Saturday. Do they generally hit in the early morning and late evening? I know the area that we are fishing has seen pressure. But thanks to Google maps, I have some back up spots.

Awesome vid! Personally I don't like the chest mount because your arm gets in the way when you fish and people don't want to see your arm, they want to see the fish.
