Do you think the diawa BG 5000 is decent for surf fishing? (Central east coast of FL. Seems to hold a good amount of line.
Also, can you recommend a decent 2 piece rod to pair with it? I may just get a one piece blank anyway (I do have a truck) just want options and value your opinion. Thanks!

My new pier, surf setup, for now, lol. 8' Tsunami Air Wave 3/4-3 oz for 89, paired up with a shimano spheros sw inshore spinning reels 4000, 120, using 30lb. power pro. I think I made a good choice. Great vid.

When I was younger, I used to use one of those big classic ugly stiks and a ginormous reel to catch blue gills in a pond behind my apartment complex. Good times.
