I have only done a small bit of shark fishing up here in Southeast NC. Does anyone have any insights into timing of the smaller species migrating? We have some excellent sized Tigers and Hammerheads. Kind of interesting. there was a White that was filmed a couple of time and eventually tagged a few years ago. The last I checked she was making trips up around Cape Anne and back several times per year. The vids used to be here on youtube. Some guys were out around Frying Pan shoals if I recall correctly. She was cruising around their boat, very curious. Nothing aggressing and I don't recall them offering food which was probably a good call as she was about the same size as their skiff.

Just kayaked 2 baits out 500 yards. Im on Saint George island on the panhandle of Florida. Watching this video wondering if I made a mistake picking this week! Water is calm hopefully I get lucky.
Edit: I caught a 250 pound sandbar shark that night, a 42 red drum on the other line, and an 1110 tiger shark the following morning. Unbelievable. November 18th baby! If you want to see it check it out at pond. kings or kevdunahoo on instagram. Thanks for all the advice landsharkfishing

I learned beach shark fishing as a kid from herb goodman the legendary beach shark fisherman and trial and error. I used a long board to pattlettle my baits out, wish we had the ocean kayaks of today. Our set ups were 12/0 penn with a deluxe 49 custom old school star Rod, the Rod was built to be an old school bridge Rod with length and huge back bone. It's probley 10 or 11 ft long, long butt that seats great in a sand spike.

Question is a little off topic but do you guys use monofilament leader or fluorocarbon when snook fishing? I thought I noticed or heard you guys say you use mono but I am not sure. If so, why mono over fluoro?

Great information. A lot of this holds true over here in Texas also. I need to shoot over to Florida next year and fish for some of those MONSTER hammer heads. Looks like sooo much fun.

I noticed you replied to another comment saying you don't like braid for sharks. Is that because it doesn't have any stretch and it isn't as good at withstanding abrasions?

In he panhandle from Panama City to Pensacola September through October is great for big sharks especially tigers. January- April we get duskys sand bars and makos
