I want to give you a word of advice. Do not catch small fish. In South Korea, Even small fish have been caught commercially. As a result, all the small and big fish in the sea disappeared. Of course, the some small fish schools still exist. but the number has extremely shrunk. In this video, you had filleted types of small fish, Still eaten commercially in South Korea. The huge number of sushi restaurant that were selling raw fish in the old days in South Korea have almost changed now. because almost commercial fish are gone, they sell farmed crabs barely.

Greetings from Australia. As mentioned by others, we have a similar species here that we call garfish. I purposely chase them to eat coz they are delicious! How I prepare them is to scale them, take off the fillets like you did, (leave the skin on) then I use an ultra sharp very thin tip of a filleting blade to cut the rib cage bones out. Dont worry about the pin bones coz they sort of melt out with cooking. Cut each fillet into two pieces, dip in flour, egg and then a mix of 1/2 bread crumbs n 1/2 fine greater Parmesan cheese. Quickly deep fry n enjoy!

Try eating threadfin herring, pilchards and pinfish. fried whole in seasoned oil (put 3 crushed gloves of garlic, a few allspice berries, 1 or 2 crushed scotch bonnet peppers or jabbanero peppers in hot oil) fried till golden brown. then serve them topped with escovitch sauce which is a chunky sauce made with cane vinegar, sliced onions, thinly sliced ginger, carrots, cho cho, jabbanero peppers and a few allspice berries. enjoy this fried fish with bread, or fried bammies (cassava cakes) or festivals which is a fried fluffy dumplings. excellent!

Excellent for fish oil. fried them whole when I was younger. they yield a lot of fish oil. taste like sardines with the skin on. definitely have lots of fibrous bones that you could work around. they are nutritious forage fish for all predatory fish out there. great video man'.

Another cool video. Do you think you could throw into one of your catch and cook vids the way you sharpen your Dexter knives to keep them razor sharp? I know it seems goofy or like a dumb question, but im pretty bad at knife/ax sharpening. Thanks!

Hey Vince I was kind of hoping you did it kind of like a fish stick, battered it up and deep-fried it. I bet you that would have made it taste excellent. but they look good the way you did it thanks for the video, keep up the good work.

I would also like to see a ladyfish and sand flea vid. Ive seen a 50/50 on YouTube vids about the sand fleas of people saying they're awful and they have parasites that can make you deathly sick and people saying they're delicious.

Many ballyhoo in SE FL also have had their tongues eaten and replaced by a parasite that then lives in their mouth. You can see hem if you look in the mouth. Pretty disgusting. The parasites are always full of eggs.

You are doing it wrong, just clean the guts and black liner inside the guts cavity then fry then a bit more than regular fish so the bones get crunchy and you are done. I ate them all the time back in P. R growing up.
