Is there enough algae for the Pleco? With all of the hyacinths blocking the light you may want to add some spirulina wafers or something every once in a while. Love the pond!

You shouldn't feed bread to fish or fowl, the yeast messes with gut flora and water ecosystem. Attracts unwanted organisms as well.

when you put those hyacinth I cringed -- that flower has destroyed the California Delta. Makes other invasive species look like amateurs.
