Tiny correction Rob, steelhead do not die after spawning and will actually return to salt water a second and in even rarer cases these days, a third time. Makes them unique to the anadromous fish world. The marks on your keeper steelie was most likely caused by a Native American fish net that are up and down both sides of the Columbia river. Those Snake fish have to navigate many, many nets(and dams) Many fish I've caught in the past have had net marks.

I had to look up why you were calling something that looked like a rainbow trout a steelhead trout. I learned something new today watching your video. They are the same fish, the only difference being steelhead trout migrate saltwater to freshwater and rainbows are strictly freshwater. Nice fish and thank you for forcing me to learn something new.

I couldn't wait for your video after seeing gabes. From a guy out west with a similar boat who does this stuff every day. I watch your videos thinking one day ill make it to Florida. Its sooo cool seeing you guys on this side of the country haha no gators but still pretty wild isn't it
