In the second episode of my #FieldTrips: Fish Village series, we've moved locations around San Clemente Island to an area where the captain thinks we'll have much better luck. He was right, as the action heats up in a big way. Come along as our entire group hooks up left and right with a variety of big rockfish, sheephead, bonito and some big lingcod. Great day, great camera/edit work. That in itself is a full time job. I need to take a closer look at adobe to edit my drone videos. iMovie makes my head hurt and DJI software. Put 5 fish so far in my yak, tons to learn but only putting maybe 8 hours on the ocean Im pretty pumped. Keep the videos coming. Youre living the dream.

I was stationed in San Clemente island. Best duty station if youre in the navy and love fishing. Caught a HUGE White Sea bass off the rocks. sheep head, bass, leopard sharks, bat rays, its really a good place to fish

Biggest L-cod (28 pnds) I landed in Ca waters was a hitchhiker on a 2pnd redeye. My days of fishing these type of waters are past. thank you for reminding/taking it to a whole new level.

I hope that your group didn't attempt to release those rockfish without a proper descending device. All that I saw had their swim bladder inflated and almost certainly will die.

A little tip for you guys is to use a jig head instead of a dropper loop you can keep the bait where ever you want and have a little mor control over the bait

What an amazing environment that must be to fish in, everyone is there to have a good time helping each other catch stuff. Can't beat that.

Man, I swear by those B52 bucktail jigs. I always hook up with those and a strip of squid. Especially in San Clements Island.
