It's a god damn petri dish that the USACE manages for you Scott. You're god damn lake is so toxic you CANT SEND IT TO THE EVERGLADE OR IT WILL KILL THE GRASS. Just like it did killing 50, 000 acres in florida bay. I guess you're gonna say there was some OTHER DYNAMIC conditions that was the problem and not the water. The USACE does you a favor in cleaning off the damn bloom so that you can HAVE your fishing. Full stop. Quit the BS. The National Parks will not let you send that water to them. So, because of the screwed up EPA regulations that allows the USACE to poison ANY AND EVERY Park. the only leg the NPS is using, is the damn sparrow. That is what is saving them from having this toxic water sent to them. But in return, by not having fresh clean water in the Everglades and Florida Bay, it has created a man-made drought, causing fires in southwest florida every year. Let that sink in everyone. A previous swamp land is on fire during the dry season. If THAT doesnt tell you Scott is full of it, I dont know what else does

So the blooms dont happen? Come on Scott your lively hood is wrapped into this lake, youre biased in your opinion. The lake is bigger than the state of RI, over 700 square miles, so just because you may not see it in your part of the lake doesnt mean its not happening or isnt a problem. I can go vacation on the ocean and see no problems, that doesnt mean the oceans arent being polluted. If there is no problem why did the government try to purchase over 150, 000 acres of land to reverse the problem? Instead of denying there an issue why dont you use your celebrity status to help resolve it before it gets so out of hand and your business is affected. Think of your kids and what they have to look forward to if you dont help fix the issues.

I've kept quiet about this for a while but I really feel this needs said. A lot of people on here bash Scott Martin like he's the only one that benefits from lake O. People! He's far from the only one benefiting here. Everyone of y'all that live in Fla and bash the lake benefit from the millions of dollars in sales tax revenue it brings the cities, county's and state every year. So stop this high and mighty talk like Scott and his family are the only ones that have a dog in the fight. And think about some common sense solutions that will benefit the whole. Just as lake O benefits the while now. Rant over. You may now resume your regularly scheduled lives.

The Golden Rule they who have the gold make The Rule! so be very careful who you listen to when it comes to you by way of media outlets. I personally can't wait to see this beautiful lake. It amazes me at how many people from all over the United States and Canada want to visit this Lake every year. Despite the negative publicity. Yet a sector of southern Floridian's who have investment properties are pushing the agenda. Newsflash. there is never going to be a dam built high enough to hold the water flows from North Florida. Either accept it or move north.

Your dad has always impressed me with his teaching of conservation, looks like you took up his mantle very well. I watched him as a kid every Saturday. I have a water testing kit I carry with me so I can make up my own mind on a particular body of water. I learned that from Jeremy Wade on animal planet. My advice to every fisherman is to collect as much data as you can on every body of water you fish. Even if you have to send in samples to a lab, they are always willing to except new data in conservation efforts all over the united states.

How about some facts? Was that water we saw from Lake Okeechobee or not? (hint: yes. I get that the lake is not always like that or the places you go are not like that, after all it's a huge lake. Like many things the answer takes give and take from all sides and we know that teh sugar Industry will not budge and will throw their money into fighting this. Let's 1) help make sure cattle industry are good stewards North of the lake and 2) make the sugar industry help fix what they have created.

Scott, I agree with your assessment. I went fishing on the lake for the first time in early March, 2017. It is a beautiful resource that can only be appreciated by being on the lake. Our biggest bass was 6 pounds. Our biggest problem was making sure the birds didn't steal our bait. The water quality was better than most lakes in my home state of WI. Don't allow people who don't know the lake to distort the facts. Looking forward to my next trip on the lake.

You can't believe anything the media spews these days. They all have an agenda and are trying to push some crap. I'm 40 yrs old, Living in NH I've been bass fishing my whole life and i have always heard great things about this lake. It's legendary. I'm going to make it a point this winter to fish it. I come down to St. Pete and drive to The Keys every winter. This year I'm stopping!

So you consider their effort to get the lake cleaned up as work of the enemy, and hold the polluters blameless, interesting. While you didn't say that, the comments overwhelmingly show that's how people watching your video took it as the insults are endless attacks on people who like you support a cleaner lake.
